Wouldnt we love to have the money we spent on Mount available to us now. A very strange signing. I can't see him fitting in to the team anywhere.

Evan Ferguson linked this morning. I wouldn't be against it. Working under Ruud would bring him on. Benefits the national team aswell.

Likely to cost 50m+ and Brighton are too wily to accept any of our cast offs as part payment.

It’s 50m that would be better spent in midfield this transfer window.Ferguson is going nowhere as the new shiny thing gloss has very much gone off him.

Looks like Chelsea are going to get Osimhen and they are only other team linked to him.

Better to sign an experienced striker on loan towards the end of transfer window when clubs are under pressure to get people out the door.

Would imagine our new management team have already put out feelers for 3 or 4 such strikers.

He was very good yesterday once we started to build up play more after the first 25 minutes yesterday. The big problem for him is that the position he played yesterday is where Bruno will play for 99% of the games. He was also very good pressing from the front yesterday. If Erik uses his squad properly he should get plenty of game time.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

If be totally against spending on another striker. We'll be starting one, and on a couple of weeks we'll be rotating zirzkee and hojlund. While rotating casemiro and Collyer an dm?

We need a dm and I just can't see any signing that should before that now, as I'd fear any further signing, without sales we might not get done, would be our last.

Agree with this, with solanke going for 65m..Brighton are definitely going to look at this for reference. I think he's too similar to hojlund as is and we need someone more experienced

I still think Toney is the one to watch in the last few weeks, experienced and proven in the PL. With one year left on his contract and expressed a desire to leave ..there's a deal to be done and at a decent price

Ferguson already better at link up play than Højlund. His injury record in the last year is concerning however.

MDL & Mazraoui all but confirmed

AWB currently in London to complete his move

McTominay will be sold. I'd expect the likes of Pellistri & Lindelof to be sold too. We will sign two or three more players. Who those players are will depend on the sales. Rabiot & Hermoso are still available if we don't get the sales we expect done. Absolutely no need to panic yet.

First summer with the new structure in place, a summer full of international tournaments and players on late holidays means it was always like to be an active window towards the end of the summer.

With Shaw, Malacia and Amass do we need another one?

Just need better luck with injuries.

I don't see it as urgent at all.

People will point to Amass not being in the squad yesterday, but you have to presume he had a slight knock or injury. Nothing else makes sense.

I agree we need one, but we're signing mazraoui because he can cover left as dalot can.

I just think dm is far more important than anything else right now.

I did read yesterday that we are still looking at kadioglu, but at the reported prices is be checking on Alphonso Davies.

If fab is correct it's 350k a week, or more. That's the top mufc level.

Oh of course DM is more important but I'd prefer an actual LB over someone who just covers, especially over a new forward.

Shaw is constantly injured. You'd have to worry if Malacia will ever return as he's been out a very long time. Amass is very raw but has the making of a solid player. To be competitive I think we need 2 options in both FB positions. We may have to just struggle through the season with bit part LBs covering but it's a huge area of concern. Martinez was fairly rubbish there yesterday and we lose so much by not playing him centrally.

I assume Dalot will start LB with Pellistri RB for the first few weeks. Given how Zirkzee wasn't ready to play I guess it'll take Mazraoui a few weeks to get match ready.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,689 ✭✭✭Cotts72

Pellistri will be sold not a hope he's playing RB. If Hermoso is signed he may cover LB until shae returns

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,944 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

Mazraoui has been playing a d training over pre season. No reason he shouldn't be match ready.

De ligt instead of Evans would be a huge upgrade, abd I think help martinez at lb if needs be.

I'm just going from ETH reluctance to throw Zirkzee in. If its that a player needs X amount of sessions before they can play Maz and Hermoso wont be thrown straight in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,944 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

But zirkzee only started training last week, first session with the team on Thursday. Mazraoui has been training and playing preseason with bayern. It's not the same.

Hermoso wouldn't be thrown in, I agree, cause he hasn't done a proper preseason

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,929 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

Mazraoui will probably have trained as much wit

Mazraoui will probably have trained as much with his new team mates once or twice at most so the same situation as Zirkzee if its a teammate familiarity issue that kept Zirkzee out of the team yeasterday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,944 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

    I don't get you?

Mazraoui played in their first pre season game. So he's as fit and ready as any bayern player.

Its not about how much they've specifically trained with united. Zirkzee has had one proper session. Mazraoui has had 3 weeks of proper sessions.

    Its fitness not familiarity, imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,929 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

maybe but Zirkzee would hardly have lost all fitness between the Euro's and now that he couldn't manage even 20 minutes yesterday?

If Zirkzee can let himself go that quickly to such an extreme that he was unplayable I'd be worried about his signing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,771 ✭✭✭✭JRant

I thought Zirkzee was in Carrington weeks before Bruno, Dalot, Mainoo, Martinez, and Garnacho returned. He hasn't trained with the first team because they were in the US but I assumed he was training at Carrington.

Sick of Shaw at this stage, funny how he never kicked a ball since February but he was miraculously fit for the later part of the euros and then unfit again for United!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,211 ✭✭✭KH25

something tells me it’ll be Dalot, Maguire, De Ligt, and Martinez on Friday. Obviously I could be wrong but assuming Shaw/Malacia aren’t fit and Amass doesn’t get the nod it’s less disruption than putting in both De Ligt and Mazraoui.

Can anyone recommend a good site to get a jersey for a toddler (2 1/2). May convert him early, his dad is Leeds

So did I, but there was a united tweet on Thursday with a picture of zirkzee abd a caption of fursr session in the bag, or something like that.
