It might click with Højlund but I don't see it being in the next 2 or 3 seasons. He has a lot of the tools if he played a certain way. Doesn't seem the type to want to change his style though and will just keep trying the same things not working. Definitely not a back to goal player.

We had Cavani and if he was given a regular run of games he would have been brilliant. One of the most under utilised strikers we've had in recent years.

Lukaku was an out of shape lump who managed to get a few goals despite himself. Played well before coming to us and after leaving us but he wouldn't lace the boots of Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Cole, Yorke, Ole, Sheringham....... Marginally better in the grand scheme of things than Martial.

The last proper 9 we had was Rooney, haven't had one since bar a few over the hill loans, a few hopefuls and a few degenerates.

Ibra was top notch until he got injured

Just so we're clear, you are talking about the Luke Shaw that has 68 minutes of PL action this season and 12 PL games last season, that Luke Shaw?

And you think he's suddenly going to find fitness from somewhere.

Starting XI: Onana, De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez, Mazraoui, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dalot, Amad, Garnacho, Hojlund

Subs: Bayindir, Lindelof, Malacia, Yoro, Casemiro, Collyer, Eriksen, Mainoo, Zirkzee.

That team has a 2-1 defeat written all over it. Onana starting is a big call.

Looks a decent lineup. 4 attackers in the pitch too.

Full backs in both wb positions again. Just doesn't work offensively. Will struggle to maintain attacks.

My main memory of Cavani was that if he sneezed once he missed 2 games, couldn't be relay on him being available, that and his constant moaning about wanting to go back to South America.

I think it’s a very long shot at this stage. As Mourinho said about Rashford. There is a difference between being young and being inexperienced. Hojlund has nearly 50 games for United (most of them starts) and 100 top flight games.

He has shown 0 signs of improvement since he joined and is in a run a prolonged run of form as bad as I can ever remember for any United player (usually you’d be long dropped but we’re so shallow at 9 that he has to rough it out). We gambled on a player with elite physical attributes in the hopes he could become a footballer.

He might start for 2 maybe 3 other teams in the league. I’d be shocked if he was a United player in 24 months and if he starts next season any higher than 3rd choice striker, it’s negligent by INEOS.

Bruno slotting in beside Ugarte as I predicted when Amorim was named boss. That's where I think we'll see him 75% of the time now. Bruno as one of the CMs negates the lack of an out and out attacker as WB somewhat. Allows Garna and Amad to hopefully stay closer to Hojlund

It'll end up being a back 4 with how high Dalot stays up the pitch

Won't be winning this, defensive wing backs just doesn't work, lots of pace upfront but those 3 aren't gelling.

He was absolutely hopeless for us, and yet we would be massively improved if he was starting tonight. Desperate times!

Yeah agree. He may not be good but he will end up being in number 10 position, you could say five attackers in pitch

I think he's definitely looking to control the game with that line up. And hoping the 2 supporting forwards make runs into the channels, one big problem in the last game was when we got into decent crossing positions there was no support in the box and Zirkzee was isolated. Hoping to see more bodies in there, especially with Ugarte supporting the defenders

I didn't say he would, I said I wouldn't rule it out - stranger things have happened. And then I said he has come back from a series of extended spells on the sideline before.

One thing I noticed in the last game was when we got into crossing positions not even zirkzee was in the box.

I'd prefer to judge Hojlund when we have more players that suit RA's system. In an ideal world, the wingbacks would be offering genuine width in the final third on a consistent basis, which would create space for the 10s and then Hojlund would have no excuses not to perform. I think there's too many things wrong further back in the system at the moment and the conditions for a striker to thrive aren't there.

Disappointing to see two defensive wingers again, anyone watching Dorgu?

Games against Fulham have been hot tempered affairs in recent years.

Hopefully we don't see another tired performance from United this evening.

You'd expect Fulham to be up for this and smelling blood.

Neither Rasmus or Zirkzee get into proper positions where a top striker is meant to be. Saw it last week, Garnacho put a ball right across the 6 yard box and Zirkzee was behind the penalty spot. Rasmus nunerous times should be attacking spaceat the fronf post but decides to hang back...so having attacking players putting in quality balls means f all if the strikers arent switched on.

Decision making..and making the right one is a huge issue with this United team

Yep. I'm on a roll predicting the last two of Manchester Uniteds final scores, I'm going with 2-1 to Fulham tonight

Is that Amorim giving the club 2 fingers by starting Garnacho?

Where has this idea that Amorim and "the club" are at odds and have different opinions on things? It's quite clear by how Rashford has been treated that Amorim and his bosses are on the same page

Wtf Ugarte. Stop jogging and close the Iowbi run down

Clearly not looking to play it out from the back, unsure how you get control lumping it up to someone who doesn't win headers.
