Weird one to put Bayindir in for after keeping him on the bench against Europa plodders.

Team to play Tottenham: Bayindir, Lindelof, Yoro, Martinez, Dalot, Eriksen, Ugarte, Mazraoui, Antony, Hojlund, Fernandes.

Subs: Onana, Evans, Maguire, Malacia, Casemiro, Mainoo, Diallo, Garnacho, Zirkzee.

Rashford not left out because of illness. Amorim says it’s because of “selection”.

I have my doubts whether we'll ever see him in the shirt again. Sad but inevitable at this stage.

"United District", whoever they are, are reporting that De Ligt is sick.

If the Rashford stuff was just more talk from "sources close to him", I absolutely would be treating it differently.

I would probably believe it to be true, just as I obviously believe it true that United want to sell, but I would at least be giving Rashford the basic credit for not actually having said anything. And rumors of Rashford wanting to leave would absolutely be treated differently than Rashford saying it in black and white, because are always bloody rumors and people treat them accordingly.

It doesn't matter what people know, or what they think they know. The club have never said they want to sell and in fact the manager has now said he wants to work with Rashford. But Rashford himself has said he wants to leave.

I heard somebody say he has his own PR team handling things for him. He should sack them all, they are clearly idiots.

A player telling a desperate reporter about wanting a new challenge(new club) before telling his manager absolutely warrants being left out of the team for at least a week.

I'm glad to see Bayindir get a start.

We've seen more than a few wobbles from Onana lately, the manager needs to test his No. 2 and be confident he can step up as and when needed, in big games.

Bayindir, Linder, Erikson and anothy all starting makes it seem he doesnt care too much if we lose

Looking forward to to seeing Bayindir in action, strange that he didn’t get last European game rather than tonight’s match.

I'm all in favour of this rotation policy now. It's still very early days of a long term preject and he wants as many players as possible getting used to playing his system.

Yeah, sure, it's great to win trophies but we're in such a fcking mess it's far more important to get us playing up to a certain standard consistently. Everyone needs to know their place on the pitch. When we get that sorted we canworry about the league cup

Big opportunity for Anthony. With Rashford likely on his way soon and Mount injured again, competition for the spots behind the striker is not so intense now

Not a fan of that line up. Eriksen deeper cm is a disaster.

I’d say the reasoning (which I would share) is that both of those games were quite important, if you’re looking at the Europa League as being your best chance of a place in the Champions League next year.

For the last game, the danger of not making the playoffs wasn’t as large but you also want to finish in the top 8 to avoid those two extra games.

On paper, Onana would have been the best option for both games. Tonight is a different story as it’s an opportunity to stay going for a trophy but I doubt the manager sees it as crucial to his season. He will have seen that with EtH, winning both domestic cups in two years wasn’t enough for SJR, and I agree with that.

The rotation policy doesn't seem to affect the 2 Portuguese players would still be a worry of mine. Indicates a bit of a bias which is how the last manager wound up with Amad on the bench.

Bayindir playing out to linderoff worries me quite a bit, i mean the manager wants playing out from the back so doubt he changes tonight and spurs do press well especially in the first half, im a bit fearful of a pasting but hopefully im very wrong

Considering how important European football is I'm loathe to basically give up on one route. And you can argue he hasn't, but imo this line up giving up.

    Who replaces Dalot?

Nearly everyone knows we have only 2 FB's this year since the summer window shut. Theres no alternative to either of them until January as Malacia is still being eased back.

This nonsense again. We have two fbs and one of them has been used with some success as a third CB recently, so yes Dalot plays most games. The other Portuguese lad is our captain who can play multiple positions and has done to great effect and he seemingly never tires which helps too.

There's no angle to their repeated selection

ange and ruben seem very familiar. would they know each other previously?

Thought he would have picked a weaker side tbh. Not sure how that line up signals he’s ’given up’.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,679 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

I wouldn’t say it’s a giving up line-up. Eriksen had a period of good form at CM. Goalkeeper has been off the boil a bit. Maguire probably would have started if he was ready to.

Let’s hope that we don’t finish the season thinking that participation in the Europa Conference League is important.

Dunno if I agree, Spurs will leave alot of space at the back, we have the ability to hurt them and eriksen is a superb long passer.

Think it's too early to comment on any bias. He's limited with options for replacing Dalot and Bruno has always shown serious stamina and endurance and is one of the team's best players.

Anthony has given the ball away 3 times in the first 5 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,714 ✭✭✭Caustic

Goalkeeper won't be playing out it seems

anothy needs to learn how to protect the ball.

Boards is woeful to use on mobile
