What a result! What a performance!!

Even without being man of the match or even particularly playing a blinder, it makes so much of a difference just having a competent keeper. Able to take a cross, sharp off his line when needed, good distribution.

We still have lots of issues, midfield the obvious one. Wing back still an issue (Dalot was awful today, Dorgu not much better).

But maybe, just maybe, we can stop stressing about a keeper for a change.

My voice is gone. Haven’t celebrated a goal like that in ages. What a win!

Great result and good performance with it. Great place to cross off that consecutive PL wins stat for Amorim too. Hopefully the team goes on and racks up some more results like this over the next 7-8 games.

Brighton at home next. We owe them a hiding after they did a number on us at OT last season.

It gives the defence confidence. They were edgy with the previous keepers.

Yeah he was bad but my comment was more regarding Sesko, which I said before the game made sense given the fixture and it was right. The problem is that Dorgu isn’t good or consistent enough either. He also could have made the same mistakes. He was shaky at times when he came on. None of us want to see Dalot starting such a big game but there isn’t an obvious replacement either.

Not sure what can or can’t be said on here anymore but I absolutely hate them. There’s no bigger fixture than away at Anfield. They all have credit in the bank for the next month for me.

Dalot and Bruno need to be whipped off sooner when they’re playing poor, they rarely improve as the game goes on, and both could have cost us big time today.

Lammens has been huge already for us, it’s clear the backs trust him and gives them the confidence to really put their bodies in the way with the beliefs that one mistake won’t guarantee a goal for the opposition.

For a big man, Sesko has some lovely touches, keeps the ball well. Cunha, Mount and Mbuemo were brilliant. We finally have forwards that the opposition have to worry about.

Not perfect by any means, midfield is a disaster and the wing backs are average at best and those will continue to cost us, but we’ll take the wins when they’re come, especially ones like this where they really put themselves into it.

Good for Amorim too to finally get two wins on the bounce. It only took 11 months, but it’s good to see all the same, hopefully it’s the start of a run.

It’s now beyond vital we produce the same performance the next day out. We’ve shown we can compete, we know we have quality up front, now we need consistency.

A damn good day to be a United fan, they’ve been rare in recent years.

Bruno created the winning goal. It’s why he stays on. It’s why he always plays. He’s the difference maker more often than not. It’s not because he’s Portuguese. Every manager he has played under at Old Trafford, always plays him.

A week or so ago people were saying Maguire's mediocrity is one of the problems with our culture and he shouldn't stay on even with a pay cut.

The guy has passion and heart and has dug us out so many times. A full squad needs different kinds of players and there is space for HM on a reasonable wage imo even if he's not a world beater

    Delighted for Harry

I know it's Twitter, but Liverpool having a bigger xg getting mentioned on there. 😄

that 1st time volley cross from bruno is magnificent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,997 ✭✭✭Acosta

It was a quality assist. But he was just about to be taken off the next time the ball went out. And with good reason. He was wrecked due the ground he was trying to cover all through the game.

Delighted with the win. We did get a bit lucky with the chances Liverpool missed, but right now who cares.

Poor uncle Fester is likely to get it with both barrels

    what a **** day. Delighted.

Thought Cunha was immense in the second half. Unbelievable hold up play from him. So strong at protecting the ball.

Crisis mode now for Liverpool. Huge money spent in the summer and they have gone backwards. Also naive from Slot to chase the game so early.

    Oooff. Get in.

Back to back wins at last, no sweeter place to do it than Anfield! Bruno’s assist for the 2nd was a beauty.

Not getting carried away though. We rode our luck a lot and got an off-form Liverpool side at a good time.
Thought our WBs were poor again today, Dalot especially.

Well done Cunha and Mbeumo, they showed their class

Look, I agree. He was becoming a bit of a liability. In all honesty my post is directed at those who are always firing criticism his way. Wishing he was sold, dropped etc. I find the online criticism of him, from our own fans crazy.

Can’t wait for Saturday evening now.

Far from a straight forward game but the wind is in the sails and the win today is sure to give us a mega boost.

    Liverpool —> Brighton.
    Chelsea —> Brentford.

Mbeumo getting up so quick and sprinting ahead of VVD for the first goal is everything that garnacho, rashford etc would not have done imo, they would be still rolling around on the ground

My God, even after beating Liverpool at Anfield, can you not manage a positive post, or admit that in the majority, Amorim got the selection and team play right (not that i expected you to admit you were wrong or ott)

Well done to the manager and the players, imo.

    Let's enjoy the win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,309 ✭✭✭davemckenna25

Well said and hopefully more can admit that Amorim got it right in the main.

Not really, there's not many bigger defenders of Casemiro here than me, your post falls into the "an awful lot of **** gets said in this thread" pile. Your nonsense that day a case in point. Meltdowns about lineup's meaning a manager is actively trying to get sacked another, ridiculous simplification of football tactics and focus on sky sports graphics even more of it.

Back to your hole now my friend.

In other news, what a **** win lads! What a weekend! We got very lucky at times, leaving Dalot on, **** bringing Dorgu on even, leaving Bruno deep for so long when he was causing us loads of problems - but **** me if we can't celebrate today when can we!

Get in there, what a result, what a page to go and do it - 4 defeats on the bounce now, crisis at Anfield?? Can't wait for the sky sports special on that

Harry Maguire's redemption arc needs to be studied and boy oh boy is it great to have a keeper doing keeper things again

Lammens has had such a huge impact even in two games. Bar was low cause of the other two clowns the last while but it’s great to have a proper, no nonsense keeper in there with no ego.

Such a young age too to be put in the spotlight and dealing with it no bother. Fair play to the kid. Great to see.

I gave us no chance before game. Gave us less chance when saw line up.

**** don't care to beat that lot there its not done enough.

    Work will be lovely tomorrow.

i'm hoping the constant long balls from him is down to trying to help him settle in and build confiidence and trust - and not simply how we have to play with him. the rest of his game is soooo promising, and he seems to provide so much more calm in the box than we have had in a long time.
