Onana can't be flop of the season. Flop would be someone we had expectations of and they flopped..... He will just continue to be sh1te would be more accurate. If we can get our attack and midfield balance working I don't think we will look as bad in defence. He will still be shaky but won't be as noticeable. I HOPE!!!!

Arsenal's title challenge may well depend on how well Gyokeres and his Portuguese scoring record translates to the Premier League.

That leaves you with Ugarte as the only defensive midfielder in the squad until January.

    Champions: City

Runners up: Hard to call. Think if Liverpool address some depth options they'll finish second. But Arsenal have added depth and brought in a ST. Should be an interesting title year.

United finish spot: I'd be adventurous and say 5th. I think the teams that finished 5th, 6th, and 7th won't be as good this year and we'll sneak 5th hopefully.

    United PoS: Bruno

    United FoS: Hard to pick.

I get what you’re saying but there’s no way it would be taken seriously given how hard we’re trying to sell him and the wages involved. A full year of having all of Sancho’s wages on United’s books is 3-4% of the entire player & staff payroll.

Part of me thinks he is on cloud cuckoo if he still thinks he’s worth £250-300k a week when negotiating with new clubs given his inconsistency playing and poor attitude. But then again, he’s guaranteed it for the current season, will have more leverage as a free agent and will probably get loaned somewhere in the end.

    Champions - Liverpool

    Runners up - City

United finish 8th. United finish with Baleba and new Keeper 5th

    United POTS Cunha.

    United FOTS Ugarte

Could really see any of the three favs winning it, and probably be the one who avoid injuries to main players. Pushed id probably go city just based on experience and if rodri gets back to his best.

I think our floor talent wise should be 9th or 8th so if I'm being hopeful I'll go fifth, we would need things to click early enough and improvement from ugarte, onana and mainoo.

I just want to see us being able to control possession better this season when under pressure.

Our player of the season will be whomever scores the most goals id say as it's been sorely lacking from a while so sesko or Cuhna.

If all that happens we should have no flops as everyone will improve to a

    Predictions for today?

I'm going with a 3-2 loss with a keeper error.

Mbeumo will be on the bench as I think he missed some pre season.

It's very hard to say. Based on our continued inability to score and create anything I just hope we are solid and maybe can nick a win. It's also very possible we get absolutely stuffed.

0-2 loss. Rice, Zubimendi and Odegaard to run the show. Ugarte to repeatedly get dispossessed in our own third.

Uniteds inability to handle their press in the middle leads to route one football to Sesko as only outlet.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if we get something from today’s game. It’s weird to say for a home game but considering last season, it’s a bit of a free shot for United.

Will be disappointed if Sesko isn’t started at 9 and Amad at RWB. Realise there’s games to be practical but start as you mean to go on.

I predict a desmond. We should have beat them back in March when we last played at Old Trafford I believe.

Roma to take both on loan possibly. Fingers crossed.

Any excuse Roy Keane will say that for a 2-2 (TuTu).

I don't know why but it makes me cringe. It shouldn't really but it does!

    I think we'll lose tbh 0-2

100% agree. What id love to see is the club release a statement saying something along the lines of our position being clear. The player is not for sale, and he will remain under contract for the next two years. He is expected to report for training as normal. Should he choose not to, that is his decision, but we will not reward poor attitude or disruptive behaviour with a transfer or a payout. By the end of this contract he will be 27 years old, having spent two seasons out of competitive football. At that point, any lucrative opportunities will be significantly diminished. Actions have consequences, and this club will always protect its standards and values above individual interests.

The club are not going to release a statement saying that Sancho is not for sale and will be staying for 2 years. Not in a million years would they do that. Nobody would believe them anyway. Nobody is more up for sale than him.

Laurie Whitwell - No Højlund in the squad. Has been told he faces a challenge to get minutes. Milan and Leipzig interested. Højlund supposedly wants to stay.

He should take the opportunity to leave tbh. There’s no merit in wanting to stay if you’re told you’re not wanted imo..

And they're not going to waste £26M minimum of their own money keeping him around because some think it's going to teach him a lesson or something.

When United are at home we should not be looking at anything but 3 points.

Arsenal are weak mentally. Get in there and get stuck into them today.

Nothing to fear unless we play with fear.

    EVENFLOW

I think he's just too stubborn to give up on United when the best thing for his career would be to get out of here for 12 months minimum. I think the best thing for both would be to depart full time but he definitely needs out of United this season at a minimum to get solid minutes somewhere else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭FourFourRED

100% and I do have sympathy for him. How devastating it must be for him after making a dream move to Man United and it not working out. It must be hard to accept. He appears to be a very good character and a likeable young lad BUT you can’t hang on to him just because of that. I see people casually throw the “high potential” words around and I think they just say it for something to say, I doubt many actually believe it or can point to why they think it’s true.

Liepzig are about his level. Also with the world cup next year he needs to play.

Fantastic news. Acting like a proper club for a change.

    Champions: City

    Runners up: Arsenal

United finish: 7th at this moment, 5th but in a challenge for 4th if we sign a decent midfielder

    United POTS: Mbeumo

United Flop of the season: Bruno

As for today I reckon Arsenal will hammer us, I don't see any duo from our midfielders coping with Arsenals midfield

Feel for Hojlund. Likeable fella and you can see how desperate he is to succeed for us. He is a victim of circumstance in some ways but he's also just not been good enough.

Amorim really is showing a ruthless streak as the easy thing to do would just be keep him around as back up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,049 ✭✭✭✭johnnyryan89

If you had a competent number 2 then you could but there isn't. Bayindir is absolutely woeful.
