SD card advice

I have a nokia phone about 2 years old.i bought it in an eir phone shop.

i need to buy a new sdcard , is it work buying a 256gig card ,since i can buy one for 15 euro.

will it work in my phone , i used to have a 64 gig sdcard but i lost it.

do android phones have a limit on the sdcards that are compatible ?

What is the model number of your Nokia phone?

Have a look on GSM Arena for your model of phone, it will give the max size the model will take. 256GB on a 2 year old phone "should" be fine. I found Samsung to be the best brand of card, had trouble with SanDisk over the years not being recognised.

I had a look at GSM for a few models. Xiaomi and Samsung. Could only see a spec for SD slot included / not included in the "Memory" section.

Is the max SD card limit stated somewhere else in GSM specs? Would be handy to know...

Used to be listed looks like they don't always now.

Might be on the Nokia site. This G50 is 128GB. 256GB seems to be hit and miss with phones. Might come down to cluster size when formatting.

I've a 256 card not all the phones we've had supported it. I could test it in our G50. Currently the card is in our car.

According to your link g50 supports 512gb sd card unless Im looking at it wrong.

Thats what I was going to suggest if OP provided model num. Look up nokia official specs.

Phonearena.com looks to be better for max SD card spec. Max SD card matches your link for G50. I just checked a few other phones and they give the SD card spec. @thereiver put your phone details into

Edit: according to PhoneArena my phone (x4 pro 5g) can take a 1tb SD card. Wasn't aware of that. Good to know.
