Our own Robert Mourik, chairman of commissioners at ComReg, was unenthusiastic about 6G at a recent conference in London.

He was not convinced of the business or needs case, saying 5G had failed to deliver on promises. Also…

    • Critical that next generation technologies are being driven by politicians in Europe.
    • Puzzled apparently about the need for complicated spectrum auctions
    • Wondered why industry hasn't got together to provide a spectrum sharing solution.

If it's a genuine change of heart that's good news but it's contrary to how ComReg has been designing its own spectrum auctions and the arguments it has been making in the High Court.
