Hi folk. Just wondering anybody out there with some nuggets of info on how to prep for these conditions. I'm talking about when there is heavy rain along with strong winds. Surely an umbrella is too effort.

I always seem to finish the round with everything soaked, from clubs, gloves and wet gear. Am I missing some secrets here.

    Get proper waterproof stuff

    Bag

    Coat

    Trousers

    Shoes

I never use a brolly not matter how the weather is. Just find it doesn't help much in the heavy stuff. And the lighter stuff doesn't bother me much. As above, good gear is definitely worth it long term

If you have a cart that can take it and it's not gale force, a Brolly is the only way, keeps you and your stuff dry

After 4 hours without one you will be soaked and miserable otherwise

For me, good gear like goretex etc is a bit of a scam, so middle of the road is perfect, you wont use it enough

Realistically you want to avoid the really wet days

Two brollys. One for the cart/clubs. One for the player..

Decent wet gear. Shorts instead of pants . They dry easy these modern materials.

Wet weather gloves , Decent brimmed hat,Waterproof bag, waterproof shoes , short sleeved rain top.

Amazed how dry you can stay..
