Leased Land and Unused Entitlements

Hi, I leased part of my land and associated entitlements this year to another farmer in a long term lease. Eg I had 15 hectares/entitlements, leased 10 and still claiming myself for the remaining 5.

When I look at my entitlements position on DAFM/Agfood, in 2024 under "entitlements usage details" it displays it as 5 used and 10 unused . And a line above the screen says 10 will be lost to national reserve if unused in 2024.

Anybody else who has leased land this year could ye check if this is how it displays for ye on Agfood? I am concerned the tenant may not have claimed the entitlements and risk them being lost - is there any way of checking if they have?

I did all the necessary forms to transfer entitlements with my farm advisor and gave Tenant the key code so his advisor could accept them.

I claimed all 15 in 2023 last year and had sufficient land to do that.

The dept has to update their portal and add the entitlements into the leasee account, then you get notification. Sadly it could be months

Thanks, that's good to know that I'll get notification at some stage, I wasn't sure if they would stay in the "unused" column on Agfood for the duration of the lease, which would be a long time to be left wondering about them.

Reading that I would suspect that in 2023 10 entitlements were not used that is the only way that message would appear for 2024. Did you farm the 15 hectares yourself in 2023?
