We'd back down fairly quickly if there were consequences.

We're very happy with neutrality when it comes down to it. That's our default.

So when Trump comes in and guts the Department of VA which looks after 100,000s of veterans they are just too myopic to see that as a horrible thing it is?

    Turkeys voting for Christmas?

    Transition you say?

how long before MAGA call the chaos → perestroika 😂

90% of the US or the rest of the world won't give a toss about some teacher in a little town in Ireland. So Trump or Vance can do a little jig round the oval office and make a show of themselves, but its only half mental evangelicals who will care either way. To almost everyone bar core MAGA they'll just look like the pair of saps they are.

I'm sure those executives next question was "transition to what?"

Every one, from the knacker in the street to the worlds greatest superpowers back down when there's consequences. We're not unique in that.

This is my first time watching Trump since the election. Christ, I forgot what a rambling moron he is.

"The EU was set up to take advantage of the United States"

MM, who knows that is nonsense, just sits there and doesn't correct him. I appreciate he is being very diplomatic but I wouldn't have that discipline.

I would not like to play poker with the Taoiseach. He needs a medal for not laughing out loud at the rambling nonsense.

Mr Trump and his media are airing their dirty laundry in front of a guest.
    No manners

    no dignity

    Just verbal diarrhoea

The most important thing MM is doing is not only quietly raising facts to counter Trump while "understanding him" is that he that wide seated posture (when making a point) which is needed beside Trump for the optics.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

What point is there getting into a slagging match, confrontation with a weirdo like Trump. You can’t win anything..

Martin is playing a blinder. He is well prepared. Yes he is being a lick arse but no point in having an argument in public with the clown.

So glad Simon Harris isn't there.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

RFK jr is casting doubt on the effectiveness of vaccines when measles is spreading to states outside texas. The only way to stop measles is to provide vaccines rapidly to all adults and children in the states where the virus is present .One vaccination is effective for life .

Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. (born January 17, 1954), also known by his initials RFK Jr., is an American politician, environmental lawyer, author, anti-vaccine activist serving since 2025 as the 26th United S
    tates secretary of health

People are going to die due to rfk jr,s lack of enthusiasm for vaccination programs

I dont think hispanics or working class voters understood that trump would destroy the federal government that employs 1000s of maga voters and provide services that are important to the public especially working class people and retired veterans

Micheál Martin playing a blinder so far, in fairness to him. Touching the Israel/Gaza issue toeing the line, while telling the journalists to "let me finish".

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

He may not be fully speaking his mind but he knows how to placate Trump, which is probably his most important role today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 182 ✭✭tarvis

nice how Our Taoiseach can speak of actually being in Israel unlike the President and vice president who’ve ‘ seen the pictures’

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 450 ✭✭Will_I_Amnt

I didnt say a confrontation. He had tried numerous times to get his speak in and wasn't able to - But doing better now.

Was listening to this subject a few days ago on the radio .

I think you get a booster for the measles vaccine and that those of us of a certain age maybe just got the one shot back then.(so maybe we need a booster or another vaccine from scratch?)

I can't remember if I ever actually got measles itself -probably just chickenpox .
