He means all the people his supporters hate with a passion might get free healthcare under Harris but it's not actually free since (oh no!) everyone pools together and pays for it via taxes. A ridiculous thought in their Mé Féin culture. Vote for him so their enemies will suffer instead of getting free stuff. Charming.

Essentially, the country as an actual United one not just in name could be better under my opponent.

More evidence for how dumb he is.

Exactly. People on the GOP side will oppose it because it means it's paid for by taxes (which may increase). Not only that, but people often feel forced to stay in what are effectively low-pay jobs because their health insurance and benefits might be tied to the job, whereas if health care is more affordable, more people can decide "This pay sucks and the boss treats us like crap, so I'm outta here".

I keep coming back to it, but the word FREEDOM is wrapped around these people's brains like a boa constrictor, gradually squeezing every bit of sense out them under the guise of FREEDOM. Health insurers and drugs companies tout that you should have the freedom to choose your own providers, while ensuring that means they can raise prices because you end up with no choice but to pay it. Private companies tout that you should have the freedom to choose your own schools and curriculum, while cutting away minimum education and childcare standards.

And all the yahoos shout FREEDOM while damn near every other country looks at them and recognises the people have trapped themselves under massive unchecked capitalism that benefits so few of them.

You can have a capitalist society while still ensuring basic f*cking needs like healthcare and education and food standards and banking regulations protect and benefit the populace.

But they GOP will never allow that. Because freedom (for them to be rich).

If you ever thought to yourself 'that's gotta be fake news,' the things Trump staffers and appointees attested they have heard him say over the years about veterans, like when Gen. John Kelly said he refused to go to the WWI memorial in france because it was "filled with losers" then Trump's public, widely recorded and broadcast remarks yesterday leave nothing to mystery anymore, he has a deep seated disdain for veterans:

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/trump-makes-stunning-claim-in-golf-club-rant-says-medal-of-honor-inferior-for-jaw-dropping-reason/

But I really. I have to say, Miriam, I watched Sheldon sitting so proud in the White House when we gave Miriam the Presidential Medal of Freedom. That’s the highest award you can get as a civilian.

It’s the equivalent of the Congressional Medal of Honor. But civilian version.

It’s actually much better because everyone gets the Congressional Medal of Honor, that’s soldiers, they’re either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets, or they’re dead.

She gets it, and she’s (laughs) a healthy, beautiful woman.

    (APPLAUSE)

    And they’re rated equal.

But she got the Presidential Medal of Freedom and she got it for her–. And it’s through committees and everything else. She’s done an incredible job on addiction as a doctor and so many other things.

And I watched your husband sitting at the White House and he was so proud. I’ve never seen him so proud. He didn’t like to show it because he was cool. Right? But he was so proud of you.

Indeed. For someone that's a stable genius, people around him don't half spend a lot of time re-interpreting or revising what he says.

that he gave the same medal to Limbot and Sheriff Joe? Because he did. Odious persons award when Convicted Felon Trump gives it out.

Ahh sherriff joe the man who didn't understand accepting a pardon meant he also was admitting he was guilty. Always the best people.

Trump has got an uphill battle ever since the mainstream media shed themselves of all self-respect and became "Handmaidens for Harris." Sadly, Trump will get no favorable press going forward as journalistic integrity is dead. His best bet is to campaign locally in swing states and get on local radio and TV where his voice will be heard without having to go through the national mainstream media gatekeepers who have thrown away the key to access.

I'm hoping the Commission on Presidential Debates gets their way, then the VP debate will be held about a half hour trip from me. If they allow audiences I'll attempt to go and observe Vance wipe the floor with Walz.

It is utterly astounding how many Americans are opposed to the notion of healthcare which is free (or even low-cost) at the point of use. You could write thesis after thesis on why this is, but as someone alluded to above, you seem to have a large cohort who aren't opposed to themselves getting free healthcare. They just can't stomach the idea of people they hate getting free healthcare on their tax dime.

America has come a long way as a country, but they have a ways to go as a nation.

The thought of a holiday in the states is always somewhat marred by the fear of having some malady happening to you that basically requires your life savings to fix because you got caught out on the insurance.

It will be an interesting debate on September 10th. Trump is spending much more time on policy than in any of his prior debates and even has brought in Tulsi Gabbard, who crushed Kamala Harris in a 2020 debate, to help advise him on how best to deal with Harris. Kamala better hope the ABC moderators have signed onto the Media Handmaidens For Harris pledge.

I was watching a stream where the streamer was doing a political quiz. 1 was on universal health care and there answer was no as then they would have to lower there military spending and the rest of the world rely on the Americans for that

This really is the crux of it.

Am I going mad, but wouldn't pushing the sentencing back til after the election be election interference in itself? But pro-Trump interference?

I mean this trial could have been over months and months ago if Trump had cooperated, and not dragged everything out, so he's completely a victim of his own making. (Quelle surprise)

Patriot Cigars…..made in another country…I somehow doubt his potential customers would grasp the irony.

They're too drunk on Ultraright Beer to care. I see the company has a new line, also.

    image.png

In the latest documentary about Roger Stone, 'A Storm Foretold', the first scene has him lighting a cigar about as thick as a baby's arm, before mindlessly puffing on it without art or pleasure. In a way, that one scene kind of sums up the man - all show, with nothing behind the eyes.

Given that he's a Republican, double irony as the cigars are supposedly Nicaraguan.

Another rally, in Philadelphia last night, where he got the State he was speaking in wrong, said he was better looking than Harris, said Barack Hussein Obama, claims people are queuing for days to get in, claimed the stock market was up because they thought he would win, whined about Biden stepping out of the race, got the idea of tariffs wrong again and claimed that the next time Harris laughs, the election will effectively be over.

    Also, this happened..

If he keeps this up, frankly, I'm quite hopeful for November, if he makes it that far

He also apparently asked who Harris is. I'm surprised none of the dementia experts that previously were so involved in the election race have expressed concerns over that statement.

Makes me wonder what it would actually look like if for some reason he didn’t make it to November. In all likelihood, yes he will be there for the vote. He knows damn well he has to if he wants to save his skin.

But for fun…let’s say that he has to leave the ticket for some reason. What would that be like? Would they actually try to get Vance to head the ticket? Let’s be honest, Donnie’s VP pick was never meant as a serious backup President for him, and like Pence he was just there as an election tool. Could the GOP actually survive the massive power vacuum he’d leave behind?

Also, assuming Donnie leaves for a non-fatal reason, what would he be like? Would that be the point where he flees to Putin, but gets stuck half way due to tech issues with his decrepit 757 (or borrowed Lolita Express) and is then extradited to the US to be dumped unceremoniously into a Federal Stockade for all of the classified stuff found in the jet with him. God…..that would he fun….
