well he’s hardly going to be pressed on his position that he wants to disband NATO and hand Ukraine to the Russians by Elon Musk now is he.

Hearing something worrying for the EU in a friendly interview/discussion and Trump being worrying for the EU if re-elected are two different things.

also his camp seem to have defined the “spin” by lashing out at the press asking about his apparent lisp

@Overheal Don't have great speakers on my laptop and not the kind of person that listens that closely for the lisp.

Did you read the warning letter that Thierry Breton (EU Commissioner) post to Elon before hand.

Don't normally do this, but not hard to connect my profiles with the # tags I have shared here. I Put up a poll on X.

For people still on 'X' here is the link for the recording.

Sorry 'X' Thread has frozen again because not enough people posted in it tonight. [Bug]

seems like the letter just put more European eyeballs on the discussion, maybe that was the “DDoS” - not a botnet, but curious Europeans.

As for the type of disinformation Twitter is liable to police I guess we will see from Breton tomorrow

I thought I had heard all the takes on the helicopter story but Jon made me nearly spray mouthwash all over my bathroom by going further and really exposing the sheer absurdity of Trump’s claim: that years before she was running for President, or became a Vice President, that he was about to crash in a helicopter with Willie Brown and with his last dying words… he just haaaad to tell then President Trump, in 2018, while the helicopter was going down, just how “terrible” that ex girlfriend of his from the 90s was, in case that information is useful to President Donald Trump later or something

He also presented back to back receipts showing how flat footed and low effort his race against Harris is, and how all of his remarks about her are utter carbon copies of his run against Biden, like someone just went into the teleprompters and replaced Biden with Harris, he with she, President with Vice President, and changed little nothing else, eg. “He’ll start world war 3” “she’ll start world war 3” etc. (I guess Biden didn’t start WW3)

Looks like Rapey McFraudsalot might be joining Joe in the old folks home around about the same time.

Looks like an all nighter for me BBC News doing a report on it now.

DDOS would have effected 'X' as a whole, not just spaces. Probably overload of demand and people refreshing to get on.

What was said on that program: -

No indication such an attack occurred. This is basically just the same thing that happened with DiSantis. The site simply can't scale for basic traffic.

Any idea when donald developed the lisp? Seems a bit worrying for his supporters. Maybe the X equipment was sub-par?

The rest of it seems to be the usual stump speech from trump which already has him dropping in the polls rapidly.

All the general feedback on that conversation makes it sound atrocious TBH. I'll throw it on in the background later just to get a first hand perspective. Also, his praising of Musk for being great at reducing staff sizes likely isn't going to go down well with plenty of working class people.

So basically, once again he's failed to gain voters from that IMHO.

It's only a success if one can say that it gained Trump voters. I can't see him getting any boost in the polls from it. So at most, it was two narcissists fawning over each other.

Any job going for me on a government efficiency commission?

    Well, you’re the greatest cutter.

Translation: You’d actually be perfect for all the firing of civil servants and hiring of bootlickers we’ll be doing in the government as part of Project 2025.

The Blue tick replies to that post are so utterly disconnected from reality it's disturbing.

Basically their view is "Every single outlet is saying it was terrible , that must mean it was awesome!!!"

Almost none of them say they have heard the interview themselves , yet they are absolutely convinced that everyone that did is lying.

There is literally no evidence that you could show these people that would change their minds.

    It's a cult.

@Leroy42 Sorry for not posting my comment on it. Pulled an all nighter after listening to it myself last night and then listening to the feedback on Early Morning TV + Reading our MSM media. Was half expecting worse response from the Media.

The conversation was what we probably already heard from Trump, more revealing about musk.

My interest now is how our politicians and Thierry Breton (/EU Commision) react to it.

Election interference from him, when VDL wants to protect EU from same with 'European Democracy Shield'.

@Quin_Dub Blue ticks are just paid for now.

I shared a poll I created on twitter last night, If your on it. I have post other tweets about it as well.

Something I don't usually by not hard to find me with the # I have shared here before.

@Corkie, you posted information without any comment. It is tough to have a discussion when you are not saying what your position is.

I haven't listened to all of it, but did manage to listen to some of it live last night. Nothing new or special (albeit in the 20 minutes of it that I heard so maybe there was something else).

But from the bit I did hear, the reporting seems very much in line with that. It wasn't an interview. Trump was asked no difficult questions, and he certainly wasn't tackled on anything. So off the bat, we can stop calling this an interview. It was a propaganda piece. A man who is giving millions to the Trump campaign and has come out as a supporter, having a discussion with the man he wants to be POTUS and hopes will give his platform a boost.

Trump has already admitted that he will agree with Musk since he helped fund his campaign. So we all need to view the conversation in that light. That both men were doing these for a mutual benefit.

Did we learn anything new? Did Trump lay out any policy in greater detail? Did he explain how next time his POTUS would be different? Was he tackled on Jan 6th? Did he at least concede the last election?

Amazingly, the MAGAs are so quick to claim that MSM is a total con and here is a complete con, but with their hero as the beneficiary, they see nothing wrong with it and even claim that any criticism is simply the MSM out to get them.

I have to say I am a bit lost at what @corkie is trying to prove or even say.

General consensus everywhere was it had technical issues and then was a long and rambly chat with nothing overly new.

Isnt that what the MSM headlines are saying? Is there something you disagree with @corkie?

Have either person gone and accused some nation-state or deep-state apparatchik of being behind the delay in their broadcast?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,968 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

Mention was made on RTE that Musk spoke on one specific topic [government efficiency] four times in their conversation to which Trump eventually replied that Musk would fit the appointment of the person in charge of that commission; or words to that effect.

Either that is a quid pro quo to Musk for having him on the show or merely a political promise not worth the breath used to speak it. It appears that Trump does have a pair and that he felt them being delicately squeezed live on air.

Edit: the Trump plan to get rid of the Dept of Education, is that part of the great next year plan he denies has anything to do with him, that he disavows all knowledge of?

More a touch of Trump-ism as his boss cant even spell Harris, he probably confuses Walz's name with the border wall.

Funnily enough getting rid of the department of education is from project 2025 which Trump claims he has nothing to do with. Although those recently released videos from the Trump leak were primers for project 2025.
