    Reportedly not

.JUST NOW: Donald Trump reacts to Iran and Israel violating the ceasefire within hours: “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the **** they’re doing. Do you understand that?”

I thought everything was sorted out, peace and prosperity for all??

    From the same interview.

"Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load that we’ve seen"

Also reported that he asked Israel to stop and Netanyahu said no. Trump again being spanked and played by an experienced politician.

That was his payment to the Evangeliban who want to hasten the end times.

I think this latest round was him fantasizing about becoming the POTUS that brought peace to the middle east. har

    Hasn't a bull's notion.

The obvious course of action here is to threaten to stop the flow of weapons into Israel and implore Iran to go back to talks, which Israel fcuked up because Netanyahu doesn't want Iran reopening the JCPOA (they were against it in the first place). Israel will back off in a serious way when their sugar daddy disciplines them and there might be a chance that Iran will comply, although that may have been permanently scuppered by Trump's stupid and impetuous decision to bomb them last week. However, if America get serious with Israel, there might be a way forward.

Bottom line is this, Israel needs to have its cough softened in a big way. They're acting like wild dogs. Netanyahu is determined to sow as much instability in the region because it suits his purposes. Trump was made look like a twat and if he has any brain cells under that straw head of his, he might use America's military industry to influence things for the better.

Trump needs to wake up to the fact that Israel has been using America as their useful idiot for far too long.

He has always been very easily played or insecure around strong male leaders. Not just the "strongmen" but guys like Obama, Trudeau and Macron too. He is a terribly insecure easily emasculated man.

I always thought Israel was a proxy state of the United States, but now its looking like the US is actually a proxy state of Israel.

The ultimate - if depressing - irony is that Trump has all the power, influence and resources to bring both Putin and Netanyahou to heel, and give himself a half-decent chance at that Nobel Peace Prize ... but the stupid fecker just won't do the necessary u-turns on these guys, no matter how many other people he'll happily throw under any passing bus.

Plus as I said earlier the Gulf states know how to stroke his ego, giving him a replacement for Airforce 1.

Israel will need to top that.

Harder to think of a better way for MAGA to own the libs than by shutting down Netanyahu and his imperialistic project.

Ultimately, Trump is just incapable of caring about others.

He's raging he got played by Israel. They got what they needed from the bunker buster run, now they'll continue as is. If there's any attempt by Trump to pull arms and funding from Israel expect AIPAC to step in and try and stop it, I doubt impeachment is off the cards.

    Impeachment is irrelevant now.

They won't have the votes to convict.

He's been impeached twice, what will another one do?

Easy - The removal of the fairness doctrine.

That enabled Fox News et al to exist and created the utterly polarised environment that exists today.

With the fairness doctrine in place , there is no Newt Gingrich , there is no Tea Party , there is no Trump , there is no MAGA.

If Trump tries to openly defy Israel and subject them to the same kind of withering condescension that his government has done with Ukraine, it represents the biggest threat to MAGA holding together that we've yet seen. Limited airstrikes plus a continuing black cheque for military aid he likely saw as a good compromise, but going fully one way or the other is way too risky.

Trump can't get rid of Israel, although maybe he could get rid of Netanyahu…

Hopefully it can be enforced and he will be out on his ass but his lawyers will get back on the delay, delay tactics, even if he is in a holding cell.

Netanyahu can't have a cease-fire.. If Israel has cease-fires in place he is obligated to hold Elections , which he will lose (bigly) and he also will have to attend his court cases which will 100% land him in Prison.

Just like Donnie running for President again , this is all about staying out of Prison…

Removal from office requires a two-thirds senate majority. With Republicans in control there I don't see that happening…

The Israeli jets on route to Iran have turned around at the behest of President Trump.

Trump needs to stop being a road bump Netanyahu, roll the 6th fleet over to Tel Aviv. Don't ask BiBi to stop, tell him.

At most there are 3 or 4 GOP Senators that could be convinced to vote against Trump.

So, Democrats would need be at least 62/63 Senate seats post Mid-terms to make an Impeachment attempt remotely viable.

And whilst I think they will take back control of the House and Senate next November , the map just doesn't indicate they have a remote chance of adding ~15 seats in the Senate.

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

One thing we saw in the previous impeachment trials was that there weren't tons of delays between the House voting to impeach, and the Senate voting not to convict.

First impeachment: voted to impeach 18 December 2019 in the House. Voted to acquit 20 Feb 2021 in the Senate. Insert lengthy Xmas break which contributed to the delay and this isn't that long.

Second impeachment: voted on 13 Jan 2021, trial and acquittal in Senate on 21 Feb 2021.

His Lawyers won't have much they can delay, this isn't an ordinary trial. Plus he won't have one of his lickspittle judges presiding over his cases (like Aileen Cannon in Florida who dragged it out interminably.)

Edit: There is a trial in the Senate, but that's a couple days of presenting evidence and defense, and the Senate then votes. The house is just basically a resolution, brought to the floor and voted on. No lawyer activity.

As for what happens if convicted, he's out immediately and the VP gets sworn in. Whether he tries something to prevent that, well, that's hard to predict. He might go quietly. I might be the guy with the winning 250million lottery ticket, too. I expect another Jan 6 attempt on the Senate when it comes to a vote he knows he's going to lose, i.e., if in the midterms the Democratic party gets 66 or more seats in the Senate, then I strongly expect he'll stir some s**t

The pattern is established now, Israel murdered scores of starving people that the world ignores, Iran hits Israel, Israel tries the "Persia are getting to get the bomb in 23 mins unless we bomb them" but no believes them anymore as the whole nuke thing is just a pretext for masking their genocide and trying to attack the only nation willing to stand up to them.

It really depends on how this plays out with Israel. If Trump tries to stop arms from going there in an attempt to reign them in the you'll have the democrats and whoever in the GOP that is under the influence of AIPAC, the second largest PAC. Maga is starting to turn itself inside out over the bombing of Iran.

I'm sure there are plenty in the GOP that would be open to making a move on this administration if it benefits them, I wouldn't rule out a faction within the party.

It's high stakes stuff because Bibi can't back down, he's goosed. Trump either has to follow through and reign them in by whatever means or lose face.
