I`m no fan of either Isreal or Iran at present, and not broken hearted to see Trump caught between a rock and a hard place. I very much doubt Netanyahu`s claim of Iran being weeks away from developing nuclear weapons. I have been hearing that for the past 20 years, but the world would be safer without them having the capability to develope them further. But then with Netanyahu, the world would be safer if he didn`t have them either.

I would doubt much of a regime change without boots being put on the ground in Iran. if there was regime change due to this bombing it would most likely be a military one, and when it comes to military regimes taking over it is usually the most vicious faction that comes out on top, so perhaps a case of both Isreal and the U.S. being careful what the wish for.

Unfortunately as history has shown, the US a d Israel have no issues destabilizing countries for short term gain.

Then you have some politicians in Europe spewing out Israel has a right to defend herself etc... while not realizing we could be in for another wave of refugees arriving on European shores.

A regime change of any kind is a win for Israel, because it cannot get any worse than the current regime from their POV.

May not be so good for Iran's immediate neighbors at all, granted, but Israel isn't going to care much about that - even a destablised Iran doesn't trouble Israel given the geographic distance.

Have to remember the broader Iranian people have no real quarrel with Israel, and before the current regime, Iran as a state had no quarrel with Israel whatsoever and enjoyed reasonably good relations, distant as both countries are.

Unless the hypothetical new regime was another fundamentalist islamic one, and not only that, but was once again obsessed with attacking Israel, which would be incredibly unlikely, Israel would chalk that up as a win.

There are lots of countries around Israel that absolutely do not like Israel, that it exists, what it does, but they have no interest in attacking Israel.

A new regime in Iran would probably be that at worst, or completely disinterested in pursuing any further aggression against Israel at best.

Isreal had no problems from Iran prior to this regime because Iran was ran by a U.S. proxy, the Shah. The present regime is a continuation of a populist religious revolution where there was no love for the U.S. because of their proping up the Shah, or for any of their allies either. Decades of sanctions haven`t improved that situation. Neither will, imo, this idea by both Trump and Netanyahu of "taking out" Khamenei. He may be their head of state, but he is also their spiritual leader.

I don`t see that just wiping out Iran`s nuclear capabilities will result in regime change, but even if it did the most likely new regime would be a military one, and the threats to Isreal have not been nuclear. They have been through proxy factions funded and armed by Iran`s military. If that is the threat that Netanyahu is hoping to eliminate he or Trump are not going to achieve that by bombing. It would require boots on the ground, and while a lot of countries around Isreal may not much like Isreal, they would like them a lot less with Isreali troops in Iran.

Trump is not going to send troops into Iran. He would be out of the White House quicker than he could wipe his ass, and unlike Iraq, there would be no coalition of the willing either to back Isreal. Netanyahu started this war thinking he could sucker in Trump, but that is not going to happen, so how he gets himself out of it is going to be a problem for him. If Trump sends those bunker busting bombs via U.S. planes, we know Trump well enough to know he will claim them an outstanding success, even if the do not do what they are supposed to. By doing that it will leave Netanyahu twisting in the wind with no excuses to continue bombing.
