Coach driver delibrately going slow?

Was on a coach when there was a major crash causing hold ups everywhere. Our coach was in the bus lane but going straight ahead at its end. But the bus lanes were completely taken over by trucks and cars. No movement at all. Yet on the outer two lanes there WAS movement including busses which had given up on the bus lane. They were making good progress on the outer lanes and many of them I could see indicating left into our bus lane much further down the road.

This was the main reason why we were not progressing. Yet our bus driver continued to stay in the bus lane. We were not going to turn left, we actually were going straight ahead on so there was no point in being in the bus lane at all. Very frustrating. The driver was not on bit bothered by any of this despite being more than half an hour late. He even allowed cars on his right to move into his lane ahead of him! I could not believe it.

The simple solution was to move out of the bus lane and get into lane 2 or 3 and we would have been off.

Absolutely. But not a guard in sight. No enforcement.
