How many counties on the island have you stayed in a hotel/hostel or friends/relatives house for the purposes of few nights away?

Of the top of my head for me,

Kilkenny, Wexford, Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Louth, Antrim, Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo.

    13/32.

I'm hoping to complete the set over the next 10 years or so. Depending on the accommodation costs of course.

29/32, haven't stayed in Carlow and Monaghan that I can remember, and have never stayed in Tyrone in the North.

Must tick them off but not sure of a reason to stay in Carlow!

    Saint Mullins.

    You won't be disappointed.

For me every county of 32 except Monaghan.

I've always liked Kavanagh's work so I better put things to right soon.

Virtually every one of them a boozy weekend of some capacity at least once. Sobering thought (no pun intended).

I think about this occasionally I’ve been to all 32 and have probably stayed in most of them. When I was an apprentice we worked all over. I’d say the northern Irish counties I’ve only stayed in 3/4 of them. Pretty sure I’ve stayed in all the republics counties can’t think of one I haven’t stayed in but it’s hard to be certain.

I've stayed at least a weekend in 15 counties that I can remember. I've lived at least 3 years in 6 different counties and at least 1 year in 3 different countries.

I can probably name the counties where I haven't spent a weekend in - Carlow, Laois, Longford, Monaghan, Armagh, Kildare and Meath.

    Derry, Dublin and Antrim.

I've never been in Munster or Connaught.

As a northerner I have spent more time in GB than in republic. I am not a unionist but things seemed to work out that way. I don't know if that is the same for other northern people. It is easier to get a flight to England than trek to Cork on a bus.

Although my parents were different, they often holidayed in Galway in the 80's and my father went on a trip to Kerry in the 70s.

Not many at 14. I've stayed overnight in Antrim, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Fermanagh, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Limerick, Mayo and Meath. I've been to 30 of the 32 counties. I'm from Cork so Dublin is as far north as I've been for the most part. I was never in the border counties or Northern Ireland until my late 30s. Some visits to some counties were very brief. I've spent 30 minutes in Donegal. Never been to Derry or Tyrone.

I genuinely think I've stayed in all of them for at least two nights. Did a huge amount of the inland waterways when I was younger & still travel extensively throughout the country.

Of the ones I haven't stayed in, most are in Ulster:

    Armagh

    Derry

    Down

    Fermanagh

    Tyrone

    Monaghan

    Apart from them, there's only:

    Roscommon

    Longford

    Lovely Leitrim
