New apple trees - care required

    Hi everyone!

I have two new apple trees that are currently in pots, until at least the autumn. One is a crab apple and the other is a cooker/eater. Both are on mm106 (maybe one is mm111). One was bought as a two year old potted tree and the other was bare root last autumn.

What, if anything, do I need to do with them at the moment? Do they need to be pruned to encourage them to start branching? Or will that happen on its own? I have them potted up into 24l pots at the moment.
