You can share ethnicity without sharing culture.

Do we all share drug culture? No

Do we all share gangland violence culture? No

    Do we all share etc…

My late uncle used to always say how he hated ****, he was a black man, this is back in the 80's, **** to him were the thiefs, scum, basically the low lifes were ****.

So much as we used Knackers to mean low life scum, they do not need to be travellers to be knackers, nor are travellers all knackers, but knackers are knackers and we should be able to call a knacker a knacker when they are being one.

The **** in Australia etc that are ripping people off are knackers.

They'll still say it's settled peoples' fault.

They have great time for the Irish but this sub culture of Irish people robbing peoples houses and elederly is particulary frowned upon giving honest Irish people a bad name……Ireland should be ashamed of these creatures who have Irish Passports

You should have your finger prints checked flying into any country, that will sort that issue out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 833 ✭✭✭JVince

    You are misinformed.

You cannot come to Ireland from another EU country and start collecting jobseekers allowance.

Try not to believe far right crap and do some checks yourself - very easy to find the information.

When I lived in Australia there was a section in the news paper with about 15 mugshots of robbers with similar surnames to those lads. My boss at the time asked me was I an Irish traveller because I travelled from Ireland. He was Australian. They don't have a clue about any of that. W

Hope the courts in Aus give them a lenghty sentence.

Problem with these guys are they are so used to Irish and UK courts giving them.a slap on the wrist time and time again, plus their welfare benefits are never taken off them after each conviction. They just think tgis is easy, we're untoubable. Hope the Aussies show them what a real justice is.

I bet the brothes/cousins are signing on for them while they are in Aus for 'business'.

I notice RTE news website didnt report this story at all. If a young Irish tourist was arrested say in Thailand for being drunk and doing something stupid like stripping off near a royal palace, RTE would plaster it all over their website for days, it would make the main TV news, showung their arrest photos, photos from their FB, photos of them playing under 12 football etc. . RTE reporters would be reporting live from their local village trying to interview relatives and former teachers.

No doubt, they've been robbing elderly people in Ireland since they were teenagers. Any other country, they would be locked up for decades and not able to head to Australia to continue their crime spree.

Irish traveller gangs need to be taken on by the mainstream media and the guards as this rubbish has been allowed to fester for way too long. RTE only ever mention travellers in terms of discrimination and what the settled community need to do for them.

They're terrified of reporting the truth that their entire culture is based on criminality and sucking the Irish taxpayer dry from birth to grave.

Its their families at home I feel sorry for. Imagine sitting there watching the Aussie news on your illegal satellite setup and realising you're their uncle brother.

Sky news is the tv news equivalent of the daily mail. Total nonsense most of the time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭Glaceon

Sky News Australia is more like Fox News, they're still owned by Murdoch unlike the UK counterpart. So I'd gather that they don't like anyone except those who are white, "native" and English speakers… even though we all know who the real native Australians are.

Would Enda Kenny not go over to Australia and speak up for them?

    Cheers.

I read the story in the Irish Indo and searched RTE high and low but couldnt find it. They must have moved it off the main news page pretty quick. I looked up local Melbourne news oulets for the full read and the names.

Sky News (Rupert News) has a great time for the Irish or the Australian people in general have a great time for them, I would agree with the latter?

Surely it's not just the Irish robbing houses over there out of all the different ethnicities? You sure there just not Irish-Americans who when they're in another country call themselves Irish?

Speaking of Australia lets declare war on it!!!, there's this hidden gem of a TV show called Mr. Inbetween, hands down along with Deadwood, Mad Men, Sopranos & The Wire, it's one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen. Only 3 seasons but like UK shows its quality over quantity, except for WILTY, Rob's impressions are brilliant.

A bunch of thugs disgracing the reputation of our country abroad. I hope that most Australians know that these people only make up a small number of our population, and that the vast majority of Irish people are disgusted by their general behaviour of thuggery, intimidation and fighting that has been rebranded as "culture".

And you know this for a fact because you read the Daily Mail every day. And twice on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I might be out of touch, as I have been here a while, but as an Australian I would think the general population wouldn't have a clue about travellers and their distinction as a low-life sub-species, unless there has been some specialist media coverage and explanation of the distinction, anymore than the Irish would appreciate the subtle, perhaps overt in some cases, multicultural complexities in Australia.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,534 ✭✭✭Pauliedragon

I don't read it but I do know they have people like Boris Jonson and that clown Farage regularly on it which the Aussie version also runs with. That's enough for me not to read it. Sky news also have Liberal party arse kissing regulars like Peta Credlin and Andrew Bolt. All these contributers are peas in a pod Tory/Liberal party fanboys/girls I don't need to read it or listen to it.

Thing is, it used to be you could not get into Australia if you had a criminal conviction.

Now that Ireland does not have a functioning justice system, scumbags guilty of thousands of crimes can go there.

Australia would be entitled to not recognise Ireland as a country were criminals are actually branded as so.

As someone mentioned, would be nice to get Enda Kenny, Pavee Point or Penal Reform Trust to go out and defend these burglars - of course, the Aussies would tell them to f€&k right off, only in Ireland we put up with that nonsense

They are doing it across Europe too, Nordic states in particular. I don't care what anyone says, the majority of that demographic are scum. It's been proven time and time again.

It’s actually problematic for Sky News UK because it’s sharing a brand for historical reasons, even though the two companies have no connection at all anymore.

Sky News UK is Comcast / NBC

Sky News Australia is FOXTEL / Murdock.

Originally, Sky News Australia was a relay of Sky News UK’s international version, then it started to add more local programming, eventually becoming a full Australian news channel, but it’s modelled on Fox News U.S., not Sky News UK.

What’s happening now is Sky News UK is being linked to them because of the shared name and they’re VERY different broadcasters.

One of them will have to rebrand at some stage.

Mr Inbetween was a fantastic watch, I agreed with Ray's pov on a lot of stuff, but not all lol

None of the Gypsies are working, they are all on the Dole, EU freedom of movement for WORKERS, so send the Gypsies back to whence they came from forthwith.

you cannot come to Ireland and start collecting social welfare. That is an absolute fact.

If you are here more than 90 days, THEN you may apply for benefits - just like any eu citizen including Irish, can claim the benefits in any eu country. We have the addition of free movement with the UK and claim on their social welfare system. - and there are thousands of Irish nomadic types claiming benefits in the UK, and throughout europe. They are almost as famous as the Roma gypsies.
