LBW on a reverse sweep

    just watching the IPL there


    huge LBW appeal on a reverse sweep , umpire gives not out , goes to the DRS who deems it not out as it pitched outside leg stump


    but if it’s a reverse sweep , then the leg stump become the off stump ??

    What say you

    Law 36.3 covers this - https://www.lords.org/mcc/the-laws-of-cricket/leg-before-wicket

    It states that the off side of a striker's wicket shall be determined by his/her batting position at the moment the ball becomes live. This happens when the bowler commences his run-up (or delivery stride if the bowler has no run-up), so your off-side (and thus your leg-side) are set when the ball becomes live.

    Reverse sweep shouldn't be out pitching outside leg. Switch hit is a better argument as that completely changes the batters on and off side.
