Just throwing it out there as I can not find what I am looking for on the internet ( you see Google you don't know everything!!). Rode my first motorcycle when I was 13 then fast forward a long time to 2 years ago and I had to stop. Arthritis! Then I decided a few months ago I want to go back on two wheels again. So I bought a fairly OK Yamaha Majesty 400 and it surprised me! I can ride again with my arthritis. So I am wondering if there are any other maxi scooter converts out there? I know there are Vespa clubs but that's just not my thing.

I know of a few people who've had to stop riding bikes due to back pain and switched to scooters like the t-max.

I don't know of any specific clubs for scooter converts.

Mine is off the road a long time, but I'd just turn up to bike runs on it. Variety is the spice of life & all that.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I,m not going to stand at the pulpit and preach the virtues of the maxi scooter I'm just amazed there is not others out there like me ! Maybe I will come across them on my scooter travels and we will with the help of multivitamins and painkillers take over the world 🤣

You're the lad on Reddit ? did you replace the screen on the majesty ? I got banned multiple times on Reddit, absolutely insanely over sensitive there.

I have a 2007 T-Max 500 an absolutely love it, I was really surprised at how big it is ! and it's more than fast enough for sane people !

500cc offers plenty of power and the auto transmission is great at junctions and roundabouts especially as a learner.

I need to get work done on it, it's 2007 and 51,000 miles so hopefully get it sorted soon.

I have also recently picked up a maxi scooter, a 500 cc Aprilia. The bike has been off the road for some time and needs suspension and steering overhaul along with new voltage regulator and fuel system flush. It is to accompany my BMW 1200 as a commuter bike when the weather is good. The reason I have chosen the scooter is the luggage capacity for storing my work bag and I just need to put on my jacket gloves and helmet and off I go. The BMW will be for touring and weekend rides The only downside to the scooters are maintenance requires stripping a lot of body panels.

Yeah body panels are a pain but for now I won't be the one doing the maintenance myself, plan getting a garage at some point, maybe then.

The idea that you don't need any protection below the waist because the motorcycle you're riding has automatic transmission is kinda funny.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
