43" TV recommendation

Hi,

I'm looking for a TV around 43" for an older relative, they currently have satellite free to air, saorview (through a combi box) and also use NOW TV so they have to use 3 remotes depending on what they want to watch so would like to simplify things.

So ideally would like to get a TV that supports all the above while just having to use 1 remote if possible so any recommendations here I'd be grateful.

If they could fit a 50" then the LG 50UR91006 would be the one to go for priced at €498. Ticks all 3 boxes.

It does come in a 43" but this can not be shipped and would need collected from us here in Belfast…

In a 43" the Panasonic 43LX660 priced at €419 also ticks all the boxes.

Thanks Kenny, they look to fit the bill alright. I'll need to check if the 50" inch would fit and get back to you on this

Just a question on the Panasonic model I don't see it on the Panasonic site is it discontinued or am I looking at the wrong place?

The current models are the MX series - we received a batch of the LX models which would have been the ones before but they're still great spec TVs and brand new. I can't find it on Panasonics website either - I can only find the MX series unfortunately!

We have one on display though and it looks great!

Hi, I think I have a similar question so jumping on this thread (hope that is okay)

I am looking for a 40"ish TV to replace my current 32". We are not big TV users so not looking for anything high end…

I currently get the uk free to air channels through a satellite receiver connected via HDMI cable to the TV. With the options above, would I still need this satellite receiver? The current one I have has a terrible poor user interface

Hi Digitalsystem.

Its going to be a 43" as there are very few 40" screen out there.

If you got one with a satellite tuner built in it would do away with your receiver. Although not all TV's offer a recording option, some do via external hard drive.

As well as the Panasonic above there is the Samsung 43CU8500 coming in at €474 delivered. Has a satellite tuner built in.

Thanks for the feedback and options guys, when I click on the link for the LG TV it is opening a blank page. I searched for LG 43UR91006 on the richer sounds website and can't find it either. Could you send it on again?

400 euro would be on the top end of my budget

I've limited understanding of how all this works so apologies if some of these questions are basic or not well explained...

So is it the case that I would need to plug in the aerial cable that is currently connected to that satellite receiver into the new TV and I'd be good to go? Where could I see what the EPG looks like on these TV's?

How do these TV's receive the saorview channels? Currently I am getting them via aerial cable connected to the back of the TV.

One of the things I'm looking to avoid (if possible) is having to change inputs when moving between the saorview channels and the uk channels. Currently the saorview channels are on DTV and then I have to go to HDMI input to get the channels from the settled receiver.

Hey Digitalsystem.

Just checked and unfortunately the LG 43 has now been removed from our site as the stock that was due to arrive in a few days may not arrive. I'll not know until Friday unfortunately if they land into the warehouse.

For free to air satellite you would just need to connect your satellite cable into the back of the TV and tune it in.
You will need to switch between satellite and Saorview as they will NOT appear on the same EPG. There is no way around this unfortunately.

Soarview will need a standard TV aerial cable connected and also need tuned in.

Normally you would connect all the cables before switching on as when switched on for the first time the TV will run through the setup and will need both cables connected for the tuning in section.

If not sure where you could get to view the EPG's. You might need to have a look around Youtube for some videos perhaps.

Thanks for the explanation on this. I think I will keep my existing satellite receiver so I wouldn't need a tv with a built in tuner. What would be the best sub 400 euro 43" that you would recommend?

All TV will have the Soarview tuner built in and some the satellite tuners. Your current box will operate as normal on one of the HDMI inputs.
