Cleaning Black Mold from car

Im currently restoring a car that has been off the road for a few years, it had a few bits of black mold on the handles and sun visor nothing to serious. However, Im struggling to remove the black mold from the seat belts. For the rest of the car i have been using a vinegar/water mix and its worked a treat. its not working much on the seat belts though.

any tips?

I've seen it suggested to just use warm soapy water, but to pull the entire seat belt (as far is it will go) out and then run through a bucket of warm soapy water scrubbing each section as it goes through the bucket. You can hold the belt from retracting with a couple of clothes pegs at the top. This method is also supposed to improve retraction of the belt as well.

Hg mold spray is excellent but test it on a spot you wouldn't notice first

Pull the whole seatbelt out of the car and close the door, clean the seatbelt with washing up liquid and then powerhose it

Try a bit of Milton, or one of the Aldi or Lidl knockoffs, maybe?

As above, try it on an inconspicuous part first.

+1 . I used Milton on soft top on a vintage car , works a treat leaving no sign of application , use a spray bottle .

no - that's a surface spray, not a sterlising fluid; the type you'd use to sterilise bottles. i note from the active ingredients listed that they're not the same.

Last time I bought Milton steriliser it was in a card board box in blister strips.Cud be in the baby items section or it might be found among the washing powders. Either place - who knows with the marketing boys

You'll find it in the baby section. Used to sterilise baby bottles.
