Carers Allowance Waiting Time

I would be very grateful for any information on this topic. I am going to apply for Carers. How long is the waiting time for decision to be made. Some people on the Internet say it takes months eg 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 months. While I see TD in Dail said last year it was average waiting time of 6 weeks. I would be so grateful…
