What are your Eurovision memories?

Not really sure of the point of this thread but here goes. I'm turning 32 this and would have small memories of Eurovision's before 2003. You can take a trip down memory lane with Marty Whelan's Eurovision Legends - performances from Irish Eurovision legends backed by full orchestra from the National Concert Hall.
This was repeated on RTE last night before the Grand Final.

Maybe now is a good time to think about a wee break from the Eurovision hamster wheel. The shenanigans of this weekend make it all feel like a bit of a con - of the singers and of the fans. With RTE so broke it may be a luxury we can no longer afford.
not a permanent end, just a few years out of the seeming chaos.
