Anonymous posting under Vanilla

Hey all

What's the position now in regards to posting on forums that previously would have allowed anonymous posts/threads for obvious reasons - eg: personal issues or work problems?

I'm guessing it's another feature that's been lost. Does someone have to create a throwaway account now?

There's no anonymity mechanism, so we do allow the creation of throwaway accounts for the purpose of doing so.

They create threads asking for answers then fail to engage. Feels a tad lousy, no?

I've no idea who you are of course (I always seem to be the last to spot returning posters), but to answer your point, no my posting isn't nearly as prolific as it used to be.

Partly since the move to Vanilla, partly because discussion generally has become a lot more polarised and confrontational in general than it used to be, partly because I just don't have the same time I used to.

You didn't address my point.

My point is you've created a number of threads asking advice and then never engaged with them. That's poor form when people have the decency to offer it.
