Soda without sweetners?

Just noticed that one of the last holdouts is no longer tasting good. Club Orange is now tasting awful as every other soda which changed recipe and added aspartame and acesulfame k. What a shame, what used to be good tasting refreshing drink now taste like every other one on offer.

The only one with no sweetners in are coca cola and pepsi cola which I am not really a fan so I will have to stick with sparkling water and memories of good old times.

Anyone do have a tip if there is any soft drink without sweetners? So far I only found some concentrates in mostly polish shops which can be used to make a drink with sparkling water and while they tend to have a good selection of them sometimes when I am out and want to get some drink I cant find anyting without sweetners which is annoying.

Too much soda in the soda. Or sodium in the sodium, whatever they call it now.

There's always the traditional sugared kind. Or how about non-alcoholic beer?

Pepsi has sweeteners in it now, as well. Unrecognisable, and awful, taste off it.

San Pellegrino have the nicest fizzy drinks imo, dunno if they have added sweetners though.

I still like their lemon, orange, and blood orange flavours, but they just not quite as nice as the versions without artificial sweeteners

They destroyed them a few years ago. Their drinks used to be the nicest around, just a bit different from the norm.

There are US import sweetener free products available, Jones and similar.

If you're in/near Dublin, Reynolds on Lower Abbey Street and Link on Store Street sell piles of American imports. Plenty of them use high-fructose corn syrup rather than sugar; though.

Most of the soft drinks sold here are made here and our sugar tax means that nearly all have sweeteners to get below the tax point. Some UK imports are made in Scotland, which has the same law, same outcome.

They had the nicest fizzy drinks. Then they switched to artificial sweeteners, and now taste horrible.

I think the soft drink bottles in pubs are still artificial sweetener free. I brought home a coke from a night out the other week. Was savage to drink the next day. Tasted like old times.

Classic coke still uses sugar...it doesnt have any of the asparstame, acesulfame, steviol glycosides shite in it

I hate the way they snuck in a certain percentage of the artificial crap into 7up too...they had diet and zero for a while but the standard lavelling didnt change after an initial now with 30% less sugar period...on small print on back they had replaced it with the crap...also hate that club orange is no longer club orange....live long enough and the bastards will take everything you might actually enjoy away from you!

I cant stand any of the artificial sweeteners, they taste gack, I never liked coke much in the past now its the only one of the standard fairly readily available soft drinkd ill buy....I cite that as a reason any time I order out in the hope thst my smsll contribution might make business owners think the artoficial shite isnt liked...ultimately thats the only way this trend gets even partially reversed to some degree.....I really hate that one or two plsces now hsve no choice only the artificial crap if you want a soft drink...

To the op, there are some pricy but nice (pink) lemonades on the market like lorina, belvoir etc (and the donnybrook fair branded ones) that still use actual good old fashioned sugar and do not taste like a combo of fetid armpit and rancid ballsack....theres an irish company doing lemonade (irish craft sod company or something) and they just use sugar, lemon and water too...their standard lemonade isnt bad at all.

Interesting, picked up a can of it this week. In addition to the sugar, there is Acesulfame K and Sucralose. Very seldom pick up a full sugar drink, it was considerably worse than the last one I had.

If I drank minerals much, I'd sooner take my chances with pure unadulterated sugar than the synthetic cancer causers.

A sparkling water with a dropeen of lime cordial in it is just the tickets for me.

Or on the go I like Volvic sparkling with lemon and lime infusion.

Those flavored waters have got sweeteners in them !!

I can't have sweeteners and every drink has them now. Capri-sun, ribena, all fizzy drinks (except Coca-Cola). I really miss lucozade and 7up when I'm sick.

To top it off, the WHO came out about a year ago saying not to use sweeteners to control obesity and here we are still with the sugar tax.

The health food shops has got nice refreshing drinks without sweeteners. Whole Earth Organic orange and lemon. It quenches the thirst. That is the only drink I have found without sweeteners.

There are sweetners in Volvic too. Also in all of the cordials I have seen in tesco or dunnes. Best cordial I have found is Lowicz brand usually stocked in any Polish shops. They actually even list if the ingredient is sugar or hfcs. I prefer sugar variety.

Yup, coca cola is the last holdout. Club Orange was my choice until recently and I do not like cola so I stocked up on sugar based cordials. I got like 7-8 different flavors and one of them is cola. The other day I made cup of cola for a friend who was visiting and she said it was better than coca cola from a shop. Just dash of cola cordial and sparkling water.

Are those health shop drinks you mentioned fizzy drinks? No matter how much of water I dring thirst only go away when I drink something with bubbles in it.

The whole earth drinks are fizzy. There's a few different flavours but I like the orange and lemon drink the most.

Was Lucozade really better before 2017? I only got into it the last few years and I enjoy it but so many people say its complete muck after they changed the formula in 2017. I'm just curious as it's hard to picture it bring even sweeter.

The old Lucozade seemed more carbonated with a real refreshing kick to it, while the new stuff tastes flat with a manky aftertaste.

It's now sparking water or coca cola for me, all other mass market stuff is plain mank and quite possibly carcinogenic.

I know it was used by diabetics as a "break glass" option if they had a severe low. I once went to visit my aunt (type 1) and she got me to rush to the local Tesco and get her a bottle. I don't think it would work so well now.
