    Hi All,

Would appreciate an opinion, to see if this is a matter of 'tough luck, know better next time' .

Saw a dentist a couple of months ago, had some sensitivity around a molar that had previously had a filling, she cleaned my teeth, did a few impact tests on my tooth, gave me a scan of tooth, and said I might need to see a specialist to see if filling needs to be removed for a root canal.

I had been feeling no pain but appointment for specialist came up, and I said it was probably best to just get it seen to.

Went today, was waiting for 30 minutes to see her, and then when I did, she put some cold on my teeth, and got me to bite down on some styrofoam and said nothing was needed. Was in there for 5 minutes. Came out and was charged 150 euro. She said that we could do a review in a few weeks time to check on it, free of charge. If the one in a few weeks is a review then what was today? I rang the dentist who basically told me thats what a specialist costs.

Is there any chance that if I push back a bit the fee could be partly refunded? I am sick as I am a bit broke at the moment and wish I hadn't been cautious.

TL;DR - Tooth was sore, not sore anymore, went to specialist anyway, they did very little and told me nothing was needed, charged me 150.
