Houses demolished in Swords

Just been driving on the Seatown Road and at the junction with North Street on the right beside the council offices about half a dozen perfectly good semi-ds appear to have been demolished, and I read there is some ‘cultural quarter’ nonsense being planned, as if that’s what Swords is crying out for as a number one priority.

Why have they demolished these houses, which could’ve housed so many families? They were the same type of houses as the rest in the St. Columcilles estate. Why not just demolish the whole lot?

Apparently there is talk of putting some apartments there as well, which of course is not what people want, they want to live in houses in a satellite town. Apartments/higher density should be closer to the city centre.
