Mouthwatering. After todays league semifinal we will have a good idea where counties currently are. Yesterday a real reminder that Limerick are far from invincible. Indeed it's easy go envisage them not even getting out of Munster. Kilkenny showed how yo deal with their tactical game.

Where was this master tactician Paul Kinnerk yesterday when Limerick needed him? The guy that sorts it all out and adjusts the tactics according to how the game goes. He was totally destroyed yesterday and to all those Limerick fans that think their team is invincible, have another thought about that. Limerick got out of jail last year in Munster.

All the Munster teams will smell blood now after this.

Limerick's era was always going to end. The questions are has it ended already and if so who will replace them. Probably Cork, maybe mine Clare. Regardless Paul Kinnerk will remain imo the greatest tactician the GAA has ever seen.

A lot went wrong for Limerick that probably won't again

- Uncharacteristic wides at key times

- Their first touch was clearly off

- A weakened full back line who forgot to use Limerick's normal foul first ask questions later approach

- A ref who blew them for things that they normally get away with (except throwing of course)

- No Kyle Hayes

- Donal O'Grady assures us that they are training heavily

- Since the defeat it has emerged that they are going to Portugal this week so perhaps their minds were on sun, sea, sand and sangria

Kilkenny played well and may have discovered some more positional options but didn't exactly bring anything in terms of tactics that haven't been attempted against Limerick before

It remains to be seen however if Limerick are slipping a little

Also, it's only the league

Limerick were missing half of the strongest part of their team. Half their backs. Half their midfield. Two of the other backs we’re playing after returning after being out of the game for nearly a year

I wouldnt read a lot into yesterdays game.

No chance Limerick wanted to be in a league final.

They have a very tough opening week to the Munster championship with Clare in Ennis and a fresh Tipp coming to Limerick a week later. That week could make or break the 5 in a row.

Thanks PTH2009, just need to correct the month for round 5 of munster.

So while the munster teams knock 2 shades of shite out of each other week on week, Kilkenny start off with Antrim at home, and Galway start off with Carlow at home.

Bit of a farce, will surely change eventually but not for a while yet while the cash cow that is the munster hurling keeps delivering.

First game is huge for themselves and Waterford.

If Cork lose they then have Clare and Limerick at home next which are two teams you don't want to be under pressure to beat.

For Waterford they really need to win this to get any momentum and avoid another embarrassing tournament.

I don't see Cork or anyone else going from nowhere to champions. Limerick, Clare and Kilkenny are rightly the favourites and Galway the only other contender.
