Ceiling Speakers

We are looking at a house renovation starting in June and would like to put in some Ceiling Speakers, the goal of which would be to connect to them with our phone via Bluetooth and play music/radio as needed through it, we are thinking in Kitchen/Diner and Bathroom and also in the Sitting room, we have a Sonos sound bar with the 55" LG OLED we bought off ye 2 years ago so it would be nice to get some sound out to ceiling speakers too when watching a movie.

Do you have any ideas, or suggestions that would work for us?

There isn't really too many Bluetooth in ceiling speakers that we stock.

We do the lithe Audio range.

You do need to have a power supply near one of the speakers to plug it into unfortunately.

These are special order products (I've had to link to our ,.com site to show you them as they are not listed on our .ie site).

If you stuck with normal wired in ceilling speakers them we have a great deal on the Monitor Audio Pro 80 priced at just €99

You would need an amp/amps to run these speakers though as they would need hard wired from each speaker to the amp.

To tie in with your Sonos soundbar you could use Sonos amps to run each Zone. it would require 3 amps. One for each Zone and the one in the room with the TV can be paired with the Sonos soundbar to create rear speakers for movies and a stereo pair for listening to Music.

If you moved away from Sonos there are the excellent Wiim steaming amps but again you would require 3 of these but they are much cheaper than the Osnos. Priced at €349 Each

These would not integrate with the Sonos soundbar unfortunately when watching movies.

Thanks a lot for these, lots to look at, so I will review and come back. Yeah Sonos stuff is expensive and considering we are gutting the house and starting again want to keep costs here in line. Getting power to ceiling speakers will be no issue as house is getting a full re-wire.

Hi Kenny, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys here, our house is now starting to get first fix electrics done so I will order some bluetooth ceiling speakers off you next week.

I had one final question on these, they come in pairs (2 speakers) does that mean they have to be installed in the same room or can I buy a pair of IP44 rated ones and put one downstairs in the bathroom and one upstairs in the ensuite?

The Lithe Bluetooth speakers are stereo pairs so you would need to install both in one room as you will only get half of the sound through one speaker. They can't used as mono speakers so you would be best with two in the one room.

Ahh thanks David, do you have any single speakers stereo for a bathroom, the rooms are very small so 2 speakers would be a waste.

You can get them in single versions as well. The only thing with the Bluetooth speakers is you can only link to one zone at a time:

The only other way to do it would be with a small amp like the Wiim Amp and then add in a Monitor Audio Passive T2 speaker for stereo in one speaker:

The Lithe Speakers are special order items for us so unfortunately I don't have any scope for discount on them. The pair would be an additional 419 euro so the total would be 1095 euro including delivery.
