Do civil servants get good friday off?

Yes in general Good Friday off - they'll be some roles that will have to work though

Most people working in businesses that close for Good Friday get it off.

Some companies take it out of your holidays, but most (banks, finance companies, insurance companies etc) dont.

Yes I work in the private sector and good Friday comes out of your annual leave

Yeah public servants get Good Friday off unless you are working front line.

Remember it’s a Bank Holiday not a public holiday, you may be docked a days holiday if you don’t want to work it (you should be imo)

as ar as i know there was a traditionaly a extra day holiday for christmas (besides xmas day and st. stephens) and good friday when the cs modernised these were considered working days but 2 days stationary holidays were given in lieu ,this is where the 22 days annual holidays exist instead of the 20days leave

I think Good Friday survived that standardisation move and Civil Servants (most) still get the day off as a Privilege Day.

CS get Good Friday off as it is a bank holiday, like many others do in banking, insurance, etc.

It is not a privilege day. Those done away with years ago.

I work private sector. Good Friday is off as our building is closed but it's not considered as one of our annual leave days.
