Second hand cars

Hi all, I'm in the market to replace our second car, with a standard car from 2015 onwards, mondeo, octavia, passat etc, yet the prices seem to be off the the wall, with a high mileage model asking 10 - 15k ! Are the prices set too high by the sellers to achieve maximum pay out ? Or is this the current climate of the market ?

We've always been able to purchase a second car for a few grand, but this seems to be gouging, any opinions or advice appreciated

Cars have increased in price the past few years but some people seem to think their car is worth a lot more than what it is

Theres no harm lowballing a few sellers. Someone might want/need a quick sale

Yup, went to look at a 2013 Audi A6 S Line in Kildare today, 150000 miles, had been mapped, dpf deleted, no most recent nct report present and hes looking €14500. Car is nct'd but I wanted to see what it blew on the test as that going to be a clamp down. Fun car to drive and nicely presented but when questioned over the smoke level and mapping I was swiftly told goodbye.

You can be lucky, there's a lot of good looking Insignias out there, up in years, decent spec and power along with medium mileage if they'd be your thing

What's the current second car and why are you getting rid of it? If it's just because of age and/or basic servicing requirements then it would probably be far cheaper just to hang onto it at the moment.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

second car at the moment is a 131 insignia, not the best of luck with it, since getting it 2 or so years ago, maybe the later models are more reliable

    Hi,

You can check some prices on car platforms, e.g. Dyler . I compared some prices with other cars and listed them.
