Had a calf born last night……was coming back ways and a decent sized calf so had a bit of a pull. Got all landed ok, cow fine…..got calf standing to suck last night with a bit of help and he was up sucking himself this morning. He seems to have a bit of damage to a “knee” on hind leg, from the jack presumably. Seems to be hyperextending/bending too far the wrong way….. he’s in good form and walking and sucking away, but is obviously sore and awkward looking. Any ideas what it could be and how to treat, ligaments maybe….. not broken as doesn’t seem to be painful enough.

If it ain't broken I would let it alone. I don't think the vet or yourself can do much only add stress to the calf

Some pain relief wouldn't go astray, otherwise I'd be inclined to leave it alone and monitor.
