Needles

Any of ye use these needles? I’m restocking supplies at the moment and considering these. They say they are reusable but I’d imagine they would dull after a couple of uses.

I normally use disposable ones I get from the vets or co op when buying vaccines or injections but they don’t always supply the correct gauge or length for the job at hand.

also they don’t tighten on fully to the vaccine gun type applicator I have, it’s a prima tech One

I use them. You need the relevant syringe also to match. Think they are good.

I use them too, there is a huge quality difference between them and the disposables. I only have the reusable syringes and there are almost always Luer Lock adapters. Handy to have an empty box for the needle you are using if giving a course of injections to an animal as they don't come with a sheath for protection.

Just be careful to wash well and sterilise if say for example injecting a few different sick animals

I have never sterilised a needle once or seen my father do it. A rince or 2 in clean water.

my sterilising is rinsing it with boiling water but I still won’t use the same needle of two separate sick animals.

Not really. I find that it's usually bad handling on my part when not in use that makes shyte of them.

Bottle for surgical spirits for sterilisation is what I use. Still have the same bottle since I started on my own 7 years ago. The needle pack usually comes with cleaning rod for the inner of the pipe also in case you forget to rinse and it blocks
