Pure telecom 1gb FTTH speeds

Hi all

Just checking what speeds people are getting from pure telecom FTTH.

My set up is that i have my ONT connected directly to a Unifi Dream Machine pro via a 10g SFP+ port (with an RJ45 adapter), im getting around 900mb down and 100mb on a wired speed test, its not an issue in that i dont need the extra download speed but im wondering if there is something in my config limiting me,

are people seeing the full speed ?

I get 910-918 on my Digiweb SIRO connection on my nightly speedtest done by my router.

I often get 940/102 on Digiweb. That's about as high as you'll get due to the limitation of the gigabit Ethernet interface from the ONT.

Do you have intrusion detection or similar enabled on the dream machine?

Yes but it's the pro so shouldn't limit speed, didn't realise the ont was gigabit, so the cos offering 2gb speeds do they replace it or go Fibre direct?

If you get the 2Gb service they will replace the ONT with a different unit. I seem to recall that some UDMs had issues with being unable to process PPPoE in hardware and therefore ran slower. I don't know if that's still a thing though.

AFAIK any IDS/packet inspection may have an impact.

Did you try bypassing it or disabling it just to see?

It did on other devices not on the udm pro ( at least up to 3.5gb) but yes have disabled and no difference!

More or less same setup here - I'm getting max 942 Mbps Down and 102 Mbps Up

Just signed up with Pure for 1gig. Tbh we don't even need it but the difference was a fiver a month.. so why not?

Wired in, speedtest results are 946 down, 103 up. Happy with that
