Electric Cars price drops

So the second hand value of electric cars seems to be struggling, but is it any wonder with the price in new electric cars dropping at a huge rate.

I'm looking for a list of the price drops here:

All VW ID's drop by €10,000+

Tesla's drop by €7,000+

Polestar 2 dropping by €8,000 this month? Confirmed?

Skoda enyaq also dropping by €8,000, confirmed?

What others have dropped and can we confirm the polestar and the enyaq price drop?

It could be difficult to create a meaningful list as many variants of the same car have dropped by different amounts. e.g. 1.Discounts only on current stock of models facing an imminent facelift/upgrade. 2.Discounts that move a variant from non-grant qualifying to grant qualifying with an effect of €3.5K to €5K dependent on when registered.

New Mercedes EQE seems to have dropped from about €85K to €63K

Does live drops matter. Is it not current price that counts?

saves you having to go and look Ithe original ever changing price.

Oh wow that's some drop for the EQE. I was expecting to look and see a small battery EQE250 or 200 or something but it's still the 300, loads of them under 65k which is where they should be really. Not the best looking exterior but it's still a luxury Merc.

No wonder used prices are all over the place nobody knows the real medium to long term price of a new EV.

Is the market returning to normality?

Gives me hope the A6 Etron when it finally arrives will be reasonably priced. And I hope it looks somewhat similar to the concept!

Yes, a new EQE now seems well priced especially when you compare it to say a BMW i5. I wouldn’t be too hopeful for the A6 E-Tron as Audi don’t seem bothered about selling any of their current EV’s in any kind of volume.

EQE price makes id7 seem a bit overpriced now doesn't it?

Not sure where they're going with the id7, apart from the number it's hard to see how it's worth the price differential from id4.

I reckon id7 price is for the chop soon. It should be in the 40s.

Remember there's feck all VRT on these things.

Yes, definitely hard to see why anyone could pay close to €60K for a 77kWh ID.7 with a fabric interior compared to a 90kWh EQE 300. I haven’t looked at the spec on a base EQE but it can’t be wanting for much.

Yeah good point but this Merc discounting seems to be a fire sale rather than a permanent price change? Either way great value for anybody in the market now with 60k to spend. Can’t logically see anybody spending 90k on an i5 with this option available

Either way they seem to have plenty available. EQE also has a 10year/250K Km HV battery warranty.

They'll either discontinue them, downgrade them to cheaper smaller battery models or continue to sell at a price the market will pay.

Fire sale to shift stock or not, they won't be going back to 80k+ for something the market has already rejected.

I predict all EVs will drop below the price of whatever ICE they are competing with in Ireland by start of 2025.

The Cupra Born is down 5k to eur 37.5k ROTR price- existing stock only. A bigger price movement may happen towards the end of the year for some EVs- reportedly battery prices are to drop by as much as 50% this year. Even if they drop by say 30% this could knock off eur 5k off EVs which could mean well specced new EVs at eur 35k or less. Certainly getting to parity with equivalent ICE cars???

Ioniq 5 refresh announced as well so current spec models will hopefully drop a little by autumn.

No Sign of Hyundai dropping prices on EV (yet) , having said that I wonder I'm not sure that used prices have dropped in tandem with new prices for other marques, VW, Skoda, Renault EV

I'm not so sure how much the prices will drop for the Ioniq 5 refresh later in the year as they will be increasing the battery size from 77kWh up to around 84kWh (I think) and the increased range which will come from this will grab the attention of new buyers.

In the short term, the fact that Hyundai are keeping finance rates at 1.9% rather than dropping them to 0% probably means they are selling enough units just now, but as you say, when it gets closer to the refresh later this year, existing inventory will drop in price.

Isn't it just. I think that's a market mover to be honest.

Pressure downwards on the likes of a vw id7 which is close enough in price, and on the bmw i5 too.

Only thing is it's not a popular exterior design at all and that may be hampering sales. It's growing on me though.

Quite tight for space inside though but has great range with such a big battery. Seems to be a lot of variance on price with different dealers for some reason.
