Hi there.

An operator in my area has some 53 Seater Volvos with tag axles.
In this case, what is the advantage of the tag axle (apart from rear steer) as the buses do not have any more seats or carrying capacity than usual.
I am also thinking of this in terms of additional maintenance, tyres, etc.
I have heard before that tag axles are required on the Continent, for axle weights etc. Not sure if this is true but either way this operator doesn't head for the Continent.
