Apparently the De Molen guys were keen to get rid of their two kegs so they could enjoy the festival.

he music volume was way too loud for the venue from the off.

On Friday I could barely hear the music tbh, it was the general noise/ chatter that seemed to echo around the hall that I was struggling with.

Good festival, nice vibe, enjoyed talking to some of the makers, but the hall wasn't the greatest venue and lack of toilets open was a problem. And it was unnecessary considering the RDS have plenty a short distance from the venue.

Saturday night's music was good for quality and volume, there was a pretty big crowd up boogeying in front of the Decks from about 8.30 to the end.

The noise from the D.J wasn't too bad on Friday..Shame it was all cut off/shutdown at 10pm..probably cos of the hotel beside the hall, I was mostly outside though, but the seating area was full from early on and people jumped onto seats if they saw anyone getting up… Ended up sitting on the plastic barriers outside the hall… Just glad it wasn't raining…

I remember back when the Festival was massive and it was on at the Exhibition centre where "Paddy Casey" and some other bands played live on stage…no issues with sound there..

Also when they had the festival in the larger hall at the RDS they had a "Silent Disco" in the hall and the DJ was outside in a covered Tent… they also had toilets in the top corner of the hall with enough space for everyone..

Yeah I felt sorry for those at the Irish brewers working right up until 10pm 😅

The Alltech Brews & Food festival was a different beast altogether. There's no billionaire animal feed magnate bankrolling the RDS one :)

Overall I enjoyed the festival, I’d echo the issues raised by others, lack of toilets, music to loud etc. I was there both days in the end and had food from all 4 vendors, I know I know. Not one of the dishes lived up to the price. But I got to try some amazing beers, got chatting to some amazing brewers, ran into some old friends and I’m looking forward to next years event, with a few of the issues ironed out. Really enjoyed the Cold IPA from Brehon Brewhouse, the sour DIPA from Hopfully and Vault City always bring the goods with their wacky flavours and creations.

I ended up leaving the festival early on the Sat, just couldn't wait in the queue for toilets. (Medical issues being one of the issues). Went over to the Horse Show House and drank some pints there for a while instead. I would have loved to stay longer, but couldn't.

Tbh, went last year and you're not missing much. Hope you get a ticket and the event proves me wrong this year. Love the brewery otherwise.
