Think Jr’s car is missing this, not sure if he’s ever had it tbh, anyway are these relatively easy to get at a dismantlers, you seem to be able to get a universal product that sticks to the underside of the bonnet, want something more local (Ire) than China ideally, only want it for noise reduction, it’s a 08 1.2 petrol Seat Ibiza but sounds like a diesel

    Thanks

Under bonnet noise installation as one of the least effective things you can do to reduce internal noise. Butyl sound deadener mat and closed cell foam are very effective materials for internal use. Look at the boot area, B pillars and doors. Low DB tyres are also very effective ways to reduce road noise.

If its petrol it may have never had it, diesels yes petrols not so much. My wife had 08 petrol corolla from new and i dont think it had insulation fitted.

I think you’re correct as couldn’t see any way of fixing one anyway, it’s not my car, just helping to prepare for sale, I found it noisy compared to my own, maybe it won’t bother any prospective buyers anyway, just thought it may help, could be all in my head 😁

Depends what you are comparing it to, smaller cheaper cars are generally noisier places to be in than larger higher price range cars, sound insulation is an area manufacturers can save money easily.

Ye, as mentioned it never had any originally. That little 1.2 3-cylinder petrol should normally sound 'happy' enough and I wouldn't consider it noisy, if it's sounding as rough as a diesel it might indicate possible issues with it.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.
