230V Inverter - EU type

Does anyone know if there would be any potential problems using an EU type inverter? That is, a 230V inverter that has the EU type 2 pin sockets? My plan is to wire it straight into a UK/IRL plugboard and then feed appliances from that as I need to. Is this advisable? Are there any potential issues with the live/neutral pins on an EU socket (that it doesn't matter what way they are connected). Is there any issues with earth in this setup?

@10-10-20 Thanks for the reply. I do mean an inverter ( see below ). I have come into ownership of one and not sure if I can use it to power off grid UK/IRL appliances.

Ok, I see now.

You could use it in a temporary and isolated fashion - it can't be connected with the household mains - but if you had a completely isolated setup then you could distribute to a limited amount of devices from it. It would be generally inadvisable to do this though as you would be without a sufficient ground fault path and associated protection (RCD, etc).
