Bailout of radio stations with Government advertising

There has been an obvious bailout of all FM radio stations in Ireland with about 5 ads in every break "brought to you by the government of Ireland" Why ?

Radio hit's a large audience, has anything changed recently to suggest this is suddenly a "bailout" or is this just the latest in a long line of things someone has fuax outrage over.

5 ads in every break, really. So the entire ad breaks are Government broadcasts?

I would say in the real world, the Government advertises on local stations because it's an effective way of advertising. Same as they do in newspapers.

Maybe they should pay for planes and blimps flying banners instead.
