That’s the LNB I bought and I had a lot of doubts about it being the right one or not if I’m honest.

I tried to swap it out as directly as I could with the Sky Q LNB and without moving the dish but the holders were different on the two so that didn’t help with positioning it. The cables to the LNB were screwed in and weren’t difficult to undo and redo so I don’t think they’re a problem (as long as it doesn’t matter which of the 4 terminals on the LNB each one connects to!)

I can’t take a photo in the dark of it and it’s so high up that I don’t think you’d make out too much anyway but mine is just straight up, compared to your one that’s tuned in at an angle.

perfect, that is the correct lnb and it’s preconfigured,, it normally slides onto the lnb arm and the plastic screw is tapped into the middle to keep in place but lnb arms can differ and people use a plastic tie. And it will have the skew pre set and the spirit level is to ensure it’s dead level. It also comes fixed in such a way that focal length is correct so if took off collar and used the existing note how far back it is in the pic. That’s a good lnb and you should have found the shield that you pull down to keep water off. If it looks straight then it’s the skew so twist as above . The twist is like a clockface so from memory point to 2pm should give you the idea but signal is best.

It makes no difference which output you use.

I don’t have the hoist yet to finish tuning the dish but I said I would have the settings ready to go.

I still can't get my box to see the SDD. I tried a few different times and it definitely isn't going in any further into the unit. Similarly when adding the picons plugin the only option is to save them to internal flash.

When using Open webif to view the channel on my iphone while trying to tune it in, I can take a screenshot of what's on the TV but I can't watch the stream. Is that normal? (Some M3U file downloads but the stream isn't playable)

There is a problem with streaming from Zgemma to iPhone. I use different boxes and it’s fine. I tried on the Zgemma as well and it breaks. I will try with a different image tomorrow and see. As regards the ssd that has me foxed for now. Did the usb show up? in my case I would open the box but in your case it may invalidate the guarantee. On some there is a seal. Where did you buy box? With the ssd it’s possible the leads can be faulty or loose. You are not having a lot of luck. I am setting up a new box tomorrow so will look to see if it’s easy to open ie check for a seal.

A problem may have been caused by the number of flashes in that a glitch could occur. You are also using the very latest vix and that can be a problem. I will show you tomorrow how to flash an earlier vix version to slot 2 and build it from scratch. How fast is your broadband?

And at the end of the day box may be faulty but unlikely. I’ll do a bit of digging re ssd not been recognised.

The box does have a seal at rear so dont open it.

That ssd problem does occur and the fix I gave invariably works and the only other one is to format the ssd to fat 32 with a laptop or pc but you would need a usb to sata cable. For now the best option would be to flash a brand new image to slot 2 and build from scratch and I mean from scratch but you need storage space for the file and fast broadband. I want you to try this and I hope the usb stick is 4gb or better.

Do this and if you get stuck you will have to post me the box😂 .

1. With power on ut usb stick in the blue slot at rear that is usb 3.0 and you should get a pop up with options.

2. select permanently mount as media.usb. see pic

3. Now go menu setup vix mount manager as the USB should show as media usb. Now press red use as HDD and you now have a HDD for now. exit back one step.

4. select image manager , yellow, then vix then for now 6.6 and select 6.6.013, then green, as its to usb its slower so just wait.

5. when complete exit back one and 6.6.013 should be at top, press Blue NOW PAUSE

6. You will see 4 partitions and slot 1 will have your image and have current against it you dont touch that so arrow to slot 2 and press OK.

7. Now you will get options and you want to select Fresh install ie absolutely clean and you will perform the same actions as when you installed first time but read on

a: Ignore the bit where it asks to do a scan, select will do later. don't downlaod plugins, or restore very important.

b: when you have box configured with language, tuners, resolution, refresh i use multi, network. it will be ready to configure correctly.

c: check storage and both should be there. just put standby as no. exit out.

d. check mounts menu setup vix mount and both should be there.

e. Now go to post above re setting up and follow that, the skin should be at simple 1080 already. The run ABM and then run Opentvepg. when you have dish sorted!!

I cant get my zgemma to stream with webif but can with an android phone dreamroid app. Need to find an app for iphone that may work.
