Alvarez to EBH, just need to work out who the -4 will be to afford it.

Not going into a DGW without him.

Feel like I need Jota, but who to sell,

    Saka, Foden, KdB, Palmer, Ricky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 700 ✭✭✭dazzday

Palmer to KDB and Estu to Doherty for a -4.

Just cant see how I can't have KDB for the dgw with Haaland and Foden

Leaves me Doherty, Konate, Jota and Udogie for the blank.... should be able to sort that with one transfer

Is there anything to be said for using the free hit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    How many doublers have you?

Feels like it might be better kept to navigate a BGW.

Are people triple captaining Haaland this week? Can’t decide if I will or hold it for Solanke in 28 for those dream fixtures. That’s more of a differential I would think and I figure Haaland wouldn’t kill me anyway as I’d still have him captained for 25 obviously.

Any thoughts on this? I feel very well set up for the next few weeks anyway so maybe no need to go taking undue risks with this.

Obviously if I TC Haaland now I’d still be captaining Solanke in 28.

I'd be very wary about a knee jerk reaction for this DGW.

No way do Foden and KDB start both games. Hard to know what to do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

Haaland TC everyday of the week. Unnecessary risk unless you are massively chasing OR or mini leagues.

In its simplest form, City are a better side at home and have 2 nice fixtures. They could easily put 3/4 past Chelsea and Brentford, a lot depends of KDB will play of course. They're a better side than Bournemouth.

On paper, Bournemouth should beat Sheffield United and Luton but IMO, it's still Bournemouth at the end of the day. Captaining Solanke should just be enough.

    3. Allison, Foden and Haaland. Two transfers available

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,033 ✭✭✭Gusser09

Haaland possibly doesn't start the second game of this DGW.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

It's more likely he starts and comes off early.

Possibly. Nothing a given with Guardiola though. That's why a TC in my view would be risky. Not ruling it out myself though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭NoviGlitzko

Have Jota, TAA, Haaland, Foden, and Alvarez. 2ft.

Not sure what to do about City. I feel KDB won't start one of them or at least will get reduced mins. I'll keep tabs on TAA's injury news but might just be boring and bring in Maguire or someone cheap and roll again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 313 ✭✭The Guru 123

Very rare Haaland doesn’t start a PL game. If they can get themselves into a strong position against Copenhagen this week I’d be very confident he won’t get a rest in the PL in the short term.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

The CL game will be the biggest driver for Man City mins. The return leg is the midweek in between City playing Man Utd & Liverpool.

Pep will want to rest players in that midweek game before Liverpool if possible. So therefore he will go all out to win the tie in the first leg IMO. KDB is a cert to start for that reason. Haaland too. He'll want a nice lead to make sure of it, allowing him to start Rico Lewis, Kovacic, Grealish, Bobb etc in the return leg and rest Rodri, Walker, and attackers that need it.

So working backwards from that game I think we should see some rotation across the DGW but the majority of players should see some good mins I would say. Alvarez is the most likely to get dropped I would think, purely because he has been playing so much in the last couple months.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,111 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

I’ve read Haaland is on £940,000 a week.

Haaland is wanted by every club in the world.

    Pep doesn’t bench Haaland imo.

    Haaland benches Haaland.

If Pep subjected him to rotation, like he does Foden or any other player, he’d be gone by the end of that season.

Haaland plays when he wants to play and rests when he wants to rest.

19 points behind in my mini league (in 2nd place). We now have very similar teams just in the last couple of weeks, only 3 players different really in the starters one of whom is Watkins. Hold Watkins or switch to Toney for the double? (He doesn’t have Toney, yet at least) Good bit of money tied up in Watkins

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,108 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

I'm well set up for the double but tempted to bring in Ederson and bench boost.

Am also thinking Palmer to Gordon for three weeks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,066 ✭✭✭MaxPower89

TAA surely a sell now, confirmed out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,602 ✭✭✭skippy15

I know it's horrible for those with him, would have even kept for the single game

Anyone around to talk me out of going from Watkins to Darwin for just this GW for -4...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,111 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

Yeah. Don’t do it. You’d be off your head to do that for just one week AND for a -4.

I’ve a good mind to call round and punch you for even considering it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,951 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

TAA, Ricky and Cunha to Estu, Jota and Darwin for a -4 is looking very tempting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

I've TAA and Gvardiol both flagged and taking no part in the DGW.

Looking at really attacking the GW but not sure it's the right call given it's a -8.

    • Gvardiol, TAA & Palmer out
    • KDB, Maguire, Bell in.

    My defence would look like:

    • Maguire, Gabriel and Estupinan - Bell first sub.
    • Front 7 - Foden, KDB, Jota, Saka, Haaland (TC), Darwin, Watkins.

Gives me 4 DGWers with 3 City attackers.

Feel I really want KDB this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭Cartman78

TAA and Palmer out for Reguillon and KDB for a hit.

Funds were tight so had to make the moves a little earlier than I would have liked.

Will have some Palmer haul fear for sure....but the KDB fear would have been waaaaay worse

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,951 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Our teams be very similar then, i have Hojlund over Watkins and VVD over Maguire

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 586 ✭✭✭Buddy97mm

Have KDB and Alvarez, no Haaland. Only way i can get him is to transfer KDB and one other for -4. Is that worth it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I think that KDB is in better form than Haaland is, so I think that having KDB is fine. But then minutes is the question, and also Haaland can score and get 6 points from nothing. I wouldn't go messing up the team for the switch myself. But I say that as a Haaland owner, worried about KDB.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,640 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Anyone considering Salah? I'd be very tempted if i got early team news tomorrow. If he starts tomorrow.he starts midweek too IMO.

    Would probably captain also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Liverpool have been stung with bringing back Thiago & Szoboszlai early from hamstring injuries, losing them for longer again with reoccurrences of their hamstring injuries. I think they won't make that mistake again.

Haaland is likely to be a high TC option this week, if you don't have him at all, that has potential for disaster, unless whoever you captain or TC does really well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,438 ✭✭✭shmeee

Klopp confirms: “Mo Salah is back in full training. He’s in contention of course”.

I can get him in with a -4, would be TAA out to a 4.5ish and Saka to Salah then.

Very tempted, will probably hold out until tomorrow if any early team news also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I don't get bogged down by TC. It's just 1 extra player.

If someone captains KDB, who scores 10 this week, but plays BB instead (4 extra players) who score a combined 12 points, then overall you have 32 points from your chip.

if TC Haaland scores 10 points, then he doesn't beat that with his overall 30 score. If Haaland scores 15 points, then yeah there is a bit of damage done alright. Maybe KDB assists those goals though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,325 ✭✭✭munster87

I could do Saka to Salah as well. Probably leads to a hit for gw26 as well though.

Prefer Saka’s few fixtures after the double too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,951 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Normally I don't get bogged down with TC, but that's cause you have the player and/or captain him, but if you don't have a player that's heavily owned and very likely to be TC your playing catchup really before you start, last season i think he get 2 hattricks back to back - if say this GW he gets 20+ points - and you don't have him, you need your captain to really do well, and sure that might be KdB,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,640 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

It would only be if I got news that he was starting

tc on haaland for me, not getting salah yet I can’t see him jumping straight back into full matches

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,033 ✭✭✭Gusser09

Tc on Haaland. More of a gamble not to tc him to be honest.

Also toying with jota for tc.

Kdb a massive gamble. No way he starts the 2 games.

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Felicity Attractive Wisecrack

    Exact same here.

I'm currently top of my money league and although I'd rather a more risky/better differential TC I can't really afford not to do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,033 ✭✭✭Gusser09

At the very worst its cancelled out. Its probable a few people in mini leagues wont tc him so somewhat of a gain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭Cartman78

    Porro red flagged fffffffs

And Udogie, more fires now for many with TAA also. I can see a good few -8's this GW especially if we get news pre deadline that Salah is starting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,466 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Think I'll sell him now, wanted to keep him for his game in BGW29 game but am short players for BGW26 as it is so taking hte -4 now "is really only a -2"

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Felicity Attractive Wisecrack

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,153 ✭✭✭✭normanoffside

I was going to play bench boost but with Udogie now red flagged I will just put him on the bench and TC Haaland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,744 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Have 2FT, would need to sell Jota or Saka to get Salah in but not sure I want to sell either with such uncertainty over how much he'd play. Anyone selling Jota for Salah?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,773 ✭✭✭larchielads

Does jota get dropped if salah fit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,744 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,325 ✭✭✭munster87

Is Jota also a similar gamble with himself, Nunez, Gakpo, Diaz and now Salah challenging for attacking spots?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

I think Gakpo is likely to start this game, because of his size for one reason. Liverpool are short of midfielders too though, so he could start there possibly. He started there in the home game against Brentford this season. He has two avenues into the team and he surely starts 1 of the 2 games of the DGW. IMO I think that Brentford is more likely.

Liverpool can't go into this game with a midfield of Endo MacAllister & Elliott. Again, for size reasons. Brentford are physically strong in midfield and also target set pieces and second balls. Jones will start surely to counter this and then I reckon one of Gravenberch / Endo / Gakpo alongside MacAllister. If it's Gravenberch or Endo, then Gakpo could start up front with Jota & Nunez alongside him instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,412 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

On Liverpool defenders, I'm trying to work out if one of the RBs is worth a -4 if we get a leak that they are starting.

Would likely be Livramento-> Gomez/Bradley. Would max out Liverpool but that's ok as I'll be getting off at least one next GW.

I think the Luton game is the more likely of a CS as iirc Brentford have scored in every home game this season, bar Arsenal, and have Toney back now also. So I would be taking a risk that the player starting that game would also start the Luton game and make up the points there.

I think it will be Gomez starting at least one but I could be wrong too. Possibly trying to protect him for the final. Maybe he plays 60 in both. But then Robbo also needs a break so it could be a 90 at RB + 30 at LB type week for him.
