Bratislava in March

Have 4 nights in Bratislava in early March.

Any recommendations please of what to do and where to stay.

Three guys (50+) going. Would we be better off booking 3 hotel rooms or an apartment?

What time do restaurants and bars close?

It will be Sunday evening to Thursday morning due to flight times. So effectively Mon-Wed inclusive.

Very picturesque old town. But it's compact enough. Plenty of nice bars & restaurants. Can't recall their closing time but don't remember it being an issue. Good transport with trams/trolley buses.

One obvious thing to do is to also visit nearby cities. Vienna and Budapest.

There’s a fairly regular train service to Vienna from Bratislava, well worth a few hours!

You'll see everything in Bratislava in two days, plus 1 day for a daytrip to Vienna. The old town, the castle, the riverside, the UFO Bridge.

I thought the old town bars were charging close to Dublin prices at the time I was there, so they were obviously making the most of the stag party trade!

Went for 3 nights, absolutely loved it. Cheap as chips. Wouldn't feel the need to return, but absolutely loved our time there.

Check this out: https://www.authenticslovakia.com/bratislava-tours/post-communist-bratislava-tour/ - Not the cheapest (for Bratislava) but 2 of us found it well worth it. Stopped off at a few bars... great when you have a designated driver!
