    Hi. I've been offered a public sector job while on maternity leave. I am currently on unpaid leave until March and then between holidays and parental benefit was due to go back to my current job beginning of May. They public jobs is looking to contact my current employer for a reference. They have stated they can't do it with out permission. Will I have to go back early to work out my notice period or will they hold job until my mat leave is complete and work out notice period.
