Civil Service job but live in the North?

Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows if you can work for the Civil Service but live up North?

Also if you are allowed to work for the CS but live in the north, is Working from home permitted for such employees?

I'd imagine it's doable and probably is being done.

If you had an address in the South that you could use for HR and Pay it might make it easier.

Yes its permitted and my department allows wfh but I couldn't assume that's the same for all. Borderpeople.info is a great resource for cross border workers especially on tax implications etc

WFH shouldn't be a problem, you are not necessarily further away to come in on the days required and your are obliged to pay tax in the North in any case whether working from home or not, although this may not actually mean any payment once the Irish tax is subtracted. As noted above border people is informative.
