PPSN and RTB

Hi to all of you good people,

I have been living in Ireland with my wife and our kids for a while. We are an EU citizens. We are working and we live in a house that we rent.

Our landlord reported us to RTB and everything is perfectly fine. We have excellent relationship with him.

My mother, who is 71 will be arriving in Ireland very soon. She will stay here for couple of months to be with us and her grandchildren. My mother is an EU citizen. She would like to apply for PPSN. The procedure is: I send them online the letter that proves that she lives in the same house with us and some utilities bill and her passport. That's clearl.

My question is: do I need to ask my landlord to report my mother to RTB?

My mother most likely won't stay permanently here. Does she need to be reported to RTB?

Does it matter when it comes to PPSN?

Thank you for answers and have a

    lovely day

unless she is working here, she doesn't need a PPSN here and she doesn't need to be added to the RTB.

as long as the landlord knows that she will be staying for an extended period and is happy for this to happen nothing else needs to be done.

To register with doctor. She will need prescriptions for some medications.

You don't need a ppsn to register with a doctor or prescriptions

Any EU citizen can move to Ireland and avail of social services and may wish their state pension to be paid here. So you apply for a PPSN for these services and the PSC card is also the free travel for those over 66 living in Ireland

Do you think we need to report her to the RTB or not?

Anyway, I need to provide them one utility bill.

The OP said she is coming on a holiday for a few months she is not going to be living here. For a few months it would not make sense to get her pension paid here.

No need to register her with RTB - she is just a guest in your house. It would be sensible just to let the landlord know she will be staying with you. Im sure they will be fine with that.

If you take in a guest or licensee who will be living in the property, you must provide their name to the landlord, but a PPSN isn't required.

And is it required to be reported to RTB if you want to apply for PPSN?

If she going to be using that address to claim for anything then yes you would need to advise your landlord and the RTB as she is a tenant. If she is just on holidays for 2 months then she won't need a PPSN.

I am just curious, will our landlord have to pay more for the tax in that case or tax is related to the amount of money she gets from us monthly?
