Whatever happened to the Kartel clothing brand?

There was an Irish clothing brand popular about 10-15 years ago called Kartel, I've not seen any clothes from the brand on sale for a number of years. At one stage they sponsored some of the Irish golfers. The brand seems to have completely disappeared and no presence online. Anyone know what happened to it?
