    Hi

Was looking for advice for anyone who has been to both places....

Family of 5, (kids aged 16,14 and 12). Will be travelling in early June.

Was wondering which island you preferred? Is eating out etc more expensive in one or the other? Is there much to see etc. Will be hiring a car.

    Thanks very much

Comes down to what you prefer most, Greece or Spain?

The resort areas of Lanzarote and Rhodes are all set for the package deal family holiday makers with waterparks, massive hotels and all inclusive dining.

Better selection of flights to Lanza.

I prefer Greece especially in the summer but Lanza is more geared to the Irish market. Weather in Lanza probably a bit better in early June. Greece a bit cheaper.

Thanks all. Was stung on a day trip to Basel with mad high prices for food and ice creams etc, and the good lady wife had heard Rhodes was quite expensive when there...didn't want to face the same

Switzerland and the Greek Islands are vastly different in terms of prices for eating out..

    Personally i'd go to Lanzarote.

Rhodes is nice, but the flights home are a disaster. you could be queuing for hours for a 12midnight flight home.

In what way, are there generally delays?

Our flight home is early (13:45 departure time)

Haven't been to Crete but have been in Cyprus and Malta (Crete is between them) in June and what surprised me was how cold the med water actually still was, whereas no problem in the Canaries.

We got married in Rhodes in June 2022, weather was amazing, probably high 30s, been a few times now Lindos never disappoints.

Really depends on what you're looking for, Lanzarote is definitely cheaper for eating out, but probably comparable for everything else.

    Mediterranean waters are fantastic.

    Would you consider Tenerife?
