Short throw projectors

Happy new year folks.

Enquiring about a 4k short throw project and screen. Do any of these have build in tuner/Freesat/Freeview capabilities?

Any recommendations for a good projector and screen combo, not for gaming just watching TV, YouTube etc.

Thanks for the post.

Unfortunately we wouldn't have any projectors that would have a tuner built into them. You can get UST projectors with a smart hub built in but in order to watch TV you would need to add something like a Freesat box.

There are a few models you could look at but just to check first, are you linking this into an existing sound system or would you be using the sound from the projector? Also what size of screen would you be looking to install?

Wouldn't be connecting a sound system, the projector would do all the work.

Thinking the 100 to 120 inch region based on the wall area available.

If you're looking to use the sound from the projector then the Ultra Short Throws would be best as they tend to have better sound than the ceiling mounted projectors. You would be starting with the Optoma L1 which has great sound and a great picture but doesn't have any smart features - you would need to add a firestick or something similar to add that to it:

If you'd prefer one with the smart features built in, Epson do an amazing model, the EH-LS650 which has Android built in:

For a screen, the Ultra Short throws are best suited for either fixed frame or tab tensioned screens as any undulation or imperfection is amplified by that type of lens.

I would recommend the Sapphire SETC240 106" Tab Tensioned screen - I actually have a brand new one in store which is taking up space so I would be happy to do a price on it if you'd be interested in this one?

Hey Boosabum.

It is important to select the correct screen especially when it comes to short throw projectors. If the screen is not right then you can run into all sorts of issues with the image.
